    Does AMG have the time and resources to do this procedure for every engine they produce? Seems overly time consuming.
    I don't know if they are all tested in that manner but they definitely run all the motors to redline and hard.

    You could sort of infer that an engine oil of diff oil change is okay at 1000 miles, but it doesn't say to do that. Pretty strange wording if you ask me.
    Strange wording but even for OEM motors an oil change, diff oil change, is recommended when finishing the break in period.

    I know Benz uses a special cotton gauze type filter that is put on at the factory, it is different than the standard paper style oil filters they use at the dealer...this is the way they can tell if its been changed or not.

    Same thing Nissan does with most of their cars, including the GTR. Factory oil filter has a '1' on it, says nothing more. You cannot get another filter with that designation it, same covering their asses.
