Best way to get Netflix off the net?

I want to do something nice for my father who really enjoys watching movies. He wants to get them instantly by downloading them.

They keep advertising this feature on the Wii where you can download movies but are they in 1080p? Are there any other set top boxes that let you do this? Any advice is appreciated.

I have Netflix and I personally LOVE it. I don't get the movies instantly but I can have 3 at a time and they are in my mailbox within 24 hours after ordering them. The best way I found is having several on the list so as you return one another one is already on its way while you still have two at home so they just keep on comming without having to wait without any movies to watch.

I have a Wii but I did'nt hear about this instant watching off of it. How does that work?

^ I don't really know how the instant watching off the net works with the Wii. I have just seen a bunch of commercials about it.

My father does not have the patience for the mail and just wants a bunch of movies at his disposal instantly. It seems there are a bunch of netflix players available so I will just have to research which one is best for his needs.

The selection of movies online suck. The movies you can watch online are all old and really bad. The only way you can see newly released movies is when they are sent to you.

Oh I see, so you think it is better to just stick with the mail?

$#@! netflix for advertising this Wii thing now my parents think they can get the entire library at the push of a button and they don't even realize they don't have the bandwith for something like that.

IMHO yes you should because you are going to be mad after going through all the trouble of setting it up for them. It is crap. Do the free trial online and you will see that is total crap unless you use the mail service.
