oe tune vs Weistec vs Renntech vs Evotech

It seems these are the top dogs in the tuning business, now each has a substantial price difference. Price doesn't always mean one is better than the other. I'm on the verge of purchasing a tune, just not really sure which way is the right way.

Weistec is doing stuff nobody else can do. I'd go with them.

Renntech or Weistec, Renntech currently has the fastest M157.

In general -which to me indicates that their level of knowledge and proficiency surpasses any other tuner. Their M156 products are a good example.

We appreciate the support from you guys on the forum, thank you very much. Good to see Luke and Jacob finally agree on something Click here to enlarge

We do have our M157 filter+tune sale where every ECU tune purchased comes with a set of our air filters. We've done extensive development on our shop E63 bi turbo, and the M157 engine will have a lot of improved and innovative products in the years to come. Our ECU tune is the end result of hours of dyno tuning and data logging, developed in house by us and customized to suit various octane levels. To minimize downtime, ECU's sent to us always ship back the same day. For those of you on the fence feel free to call or email us with any questions you may have.

I would have seriously looked at Weistec had I not committed to Renntech. Simple ignorance on my part, didn't know about them at the time. Did get a pair of Weistec filters though.

    Hello,

Your MPG should remain the same or slightly improve. The problem with an upgrade like this is post tune customers are flooring it a lot more to play with the new found power. They then see an increased consumption and don't connect the dots that it is all in the driving habits. Some customers have reported an increase of 2-3mpg when cruising, but again that is subject to the driver.

This maybe the un-popular vote around here, but I say go with RENNtech. Both RENNtech and Weistec offer a great product and you really can't go wrong with either one; however, I would give an edge to RENNtech because they seem to have been working on the M157 for much longer than Weistec and have actually tested (and published) results from their tunes different M157s (not just their in-house car) and every single one of those cars have gotten tested on the dyno, track, and road course. Their track numbers show strong/solid results. To me, a company that consistently strives to test their products on the track and goes through all the trouble of continuously track and road testing their product line (in addition to dyno testing of course) is one that deserves special attention Click here to enlarge

It isn't unpopular at all. Currently, Renntech holds all the M157 records.

These are all good choices. OE, Renntech, Weistec. A lot of it is personal preference, cost, and location. Customers will be satisfied either way.

Very well said... Click here to enlarge

Just as an added note: RENNtech also holds the quickest/fastest records for the V12 65 models, SLR, and possibly the record for the fastest M156 with their latest run in their in-house C63 in mid summer in (the always) extra humid: Florida.

I hope Renntech raises the M156 bar soon. Looking forward to it...
