Any of you running the new Renntech Carbon Airboxes?

I am already starting to source everything for the first round of mods on the new Black Series and the Renntech carbon airboxes are catching my eye. Anyone have any feedback for me? Thanks.

Thanks, I just don't want to get suckered into another Carbonio scam, those things sucked, looked great but sucked. What I like about the Renntech compared to others I have seen are the much larger ports and the fact that the airboxes are larger tells me they are functional and not just a pricey pretty mod.

Renntech website says 11 hp, I spoke with Jessie at Rentech and he also said 10-11hp but you know how that goes. As we all know it's hard to put an exact number on an intake ot airbox mod due to stationary airflow on a dyno. I am really looking for some feedback from an end user and their input and opinion....it was histerical, I called and was talking to Jessie making small talk and I said I was familar with the 63 platform and told him I have a 1000hp CLK BS and he was a little skeptical sounding LMAO

Get the Carlsson airbox. They are claiming It's good for 30-35 HP to the wheels. The throttle bodies are reallocated. It's kind of similar to the intake on the SLS

Damn that thing is ugly but if it makes anywhere near 35 HP I'm sold. Is it available in CF?

No it's not available in CF. you will have to remove the front cover of that intake if you want to keep your hood. Otherwise, you would need to modify it or change it in order for it to close.

The boxes are great; they are high quality and THEY DO ADD POWER. On a stock C63, the latest version of the airboxes added 10 whp but on a heavily modded 63, I would expect at least 15 whp (you may have to bundle the airboxes with their bigger throttle bodies in order to fully maximize gains).

Unfortunately the original graph is unavailable. However, Petro directly compared the old RENNtech airboxes to stock on the track and he consistently trapped about 1 mph higher in worse conditions. In addition, him and a couple of other members (at a dyno tuning day) compared the RENNtech boxes to stock and consistently showed better power and a good shift in torque curve. The graphs from that even are here somewhere, I'll try to find them when I get back to the office.

Definitely good but I would like to see a graph in addition. Why is the original graph unavailable?

Thanks Mo. I'm really considering those airboxes. No offense to Jessy who I talked to on the phone today, great guy very nice but he did not have much knowledge of the product. He did say he is new with Rennntech. But had zero technical knowledge, I think he thought he was just taking a standard sales call from a clueless customer, I was talking way over his head. Anyone you can reckoned I talk to to get some specifics? Like I said I'm not throwing him under the bus very nice but he had No idea of my knowledge of the M156 platform.

RT airbox on older M156 car have made between area of ~10-18rwhp on RT dynojet depending on model. RT have a stock 2012 C63BS dynoed last week & it's receiving upgrades. The CF airbox will be installed with stock software & then RT software package. BTW, congrats on your C63BS! Make sure you get the diff cooler fins for your BS =)

the RT Airboxes work, we try them at the track couple times and they gain MPH and drop ET.
If u combine the RT Airboxes with the Gruppe M intake gains are even more.

If I was in the intake business I would log a cars airflow via the OBD and show before and after results same day same gear. I would show gains in airflow in all the gears actually.

Does anyone know if its true that the euro airboxes are still larger than the US on the 63's ? BS?

Haven't heard of any regional differences in regards to the C63 BS other than seats I believe.

This goes back to 2010 and RENNtech has since redesigned the intake.

Track Data proving the RENNtech Air Box is the real deal!

Here are all my track times from Island Dragway over the past
couple of weeks. DA as per listed on Dragtimes.com

    Island Dragway - October 15th 2010 - Carbonio Intake
    Run 1: 12.246 @ 115.13 (DA: 909)
    Run 2: 12.287 @ 115.11 (DA: 909)
    Run 3: 12.144 @ 115.51 (DA: 764)
    Run 4: 12.004 @ 116.25 (DA: 764)
    Run 5: 12.449 @ 115.88 (DA: 768) Manual Mode
    Run 6: 12.112 @ 116.10 (DA: 768)
    Run 7: 12.044 @ 116.73 (DA: 756)
    Run 8: 12.142 @ 116.33 (DA: 756)
    Run 9: 12.128 @ 116.00 (DA: 756) Manual Mode

    Island Dragway - October 22nd 2010 - Carbonio Intake
    Run 1: 12.005 @ 116.58 (DA: -409)
    Run 2: 12.054 @ 116.32 (DA: -628)
    Run 3: 12.484 @ 114.39 (DA: -975) Manual Mode
    Run 4: 12.012 @ 116.43 (DA: -1051)
    Run 5: 11.947 @ 116.61 (DA: -1127)

Island Dragway - October 29th 2010 - RENNtech Air Box**
    Run 1: 12.151 @ 116.29 (DA: -37)
    Run 2: 11.972 @ 117.39 (DA: -123)
    Run 3: 11.850 @ 118.37 (DA: -194)
    Run 4: 11.933 @ 117.89 (DA: -194)

**The RENNtech air box replaced the Carbonio on all runs that took
place on October 29th. The first run was attributed to the ECU adjusting
to the increase in airflow. As you can see all the following runs were sub
12 second runs and the increase in trap speed is a clear indication that
the RENNtech air box is making a substantial amount of power over the
    Carbonio
    .
Also, when my car was custom dyno tuned back in December we swapped out the RENNtech for the stock air boxes and horsepower was consistently 10 to 15 hp lower with the stock boxes.

Wasn't Renntech working on some revised intake snorkels? I recall a pic with tubes that had a much larger diameter and some kind of insulation wrap.

Now my other question is will these airboxes fit a C63 Black Series? The Black Series has functional air scoops in the hood that feed up near the tops of the airboxes, I will post a pic. I guess I better call Harmut.
