Formula 1 2012 - Rosberg and Schumacher qualify in 7th and 9th for Spanish GP in Bareclona, Hamilton disqualified from pole

We are pulling for Rosberg after he achieved a victory for Mercedes earlier this year. Mercedes looks much improved and we would be lying if we did not want to see Schumacher show his vintage self. The major news from qualifying is that Lewis Hamilton took the pole only to be excluded when his car was found to have less than the allowable minimum fuel amount. Hamilton loses the pole and will be starting instead from the back of the pack. Maldonado is moved up to the pole from second below.

wow that's pretty disappointing for all the LH fans and for LH. Clearly a flying lap. I'm rooting for Vettel as always!

I can't believe Hamilton was sent all the way to the back for that, I mean honestly how much of his HUGE time advantage can be chalked up to his slighly lower fuel load? It's not like all the other drivers were trying to qualify on a full tank...

This race proved once again why I think Hamilton needs to get the hell off of McLaren and get himself onto a proper racing team. I am so sick of watching McLaren throw away dozens of potential victories with their poor pitwork and strategy.

Formula 1 2012 - Spanish Grand Prix results, rookie wins and Rosberg finishes in 7th

Not the best day for Mercedes with Rosberg finishing in 7th and Schumacher not finishing the race after a collision with Senna. The victor was rookie Pastor Maldonado who was helped out greatly by the penalty assessed to Lewis Hamilton after qualifying essentially stripping Hamilton of the pole and giving it to Maldonado. A well deserved victory by Maldonado who raced very well and in the process became the first Venezuelan to win a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The next race is at Monaco on the last sunday of the month, the 27th.

    I'm Back!

This was another exciting race this year from a fan's view. It's great seeeing all the teams so close to each other. But these tires are dictating too much of the race. I would have loved to see Alonso, Kimi, and Maldonado battle it out, but the damn tires prevented that.
