Carbon Ceramic Rotors for the C63??

Has anyone seen these in person or heard anything about them ? I'm asking because it's about time for a brake job on the Black Series and I see no reason to go with the OEM parts (even though they have performed great) if I can get some carbon ceramic rotors and reduce a TON of unsprung weight and rotating mass.

Also, who makes them, Brembo ? Perhaps they are these CCB's ?

Pulling that much weight out of the front of your car would for sure help your 1/4 mile. I'm sure they aren't cheap though. Any other details about who makes them ?

It is from '09 and mentions Brembo supplying some manufacturers but not Mercedes.

Yeah...although in the article it states,
"The current customer base includes, among others, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Daimler,
Ferrari, General Motors, Lamborghini and Porsche. "

And the first link I to the Brembo site says,

    "
    Customer Application
Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti, AMG."

I dunno....strange there is no more info available about it....

    Whoops, missed Daimler.

Still, trying to find the source on these.

    Definitely not a cheap upgrade.

For sure...but also something that should have been OEM on the Black Series. Can you imagine these with Dymags ???

Of course, it's just almost comical. Would be the ultimate track setup and lighter than anything else I could possible think of. Not to mention fade resistant.

That's what I'm thinking. The BS is awesome stock and can be made into an absolute track animal just with a diet and long tubes. When I drove JRcarts at big Willow he had basically long tubes, a tune and Dymags and the car was totally different than stock. Everything about it was heightened...turn in, braking, grip acceleration....every aspect of how good the BS was stock was taken to a new level. Considering how fast Dodger is NA, that is what I want and I think with a good tune, long tubes, dymags and these brakes will be the perfect setup for the BS.

While not a direct answer to this thread's question, Mov'it appears to have a 380mm front and 362mm rear BBK application for the C63, per their website... if true, I'm sure they could spec a proper setup for the CLK63BS as well.

Back in the day, a C32 guy used this manufacturer for a carbon ceramic upgrade, and liked their products a lot. Not sure if they offer rotor-only, or if everything is configured as complete BBK sets. LZH, probably not cheap, but might be worth a look:

If they are offered for C63s coupe, you maybe able to retrofit one the BS.... that would be one heck of an upgrade.

I really hope I can find some. However, getting rears might prove to be difficult and I would never do just the fronts.

Guys, you can just find the diameter you need and have then made to fit the stock hats or evosport hats. I looked into having a set made nearly 2 yaers ago, Wilwood will make them for about $10k for a full set including fronts and rears if you provide hats.
