If you are that worried about it get it tuned for 100-101 and that should allow you to safely run 91-93 if youre in a pinch all the way up to 110 or so, thats pretty much the octane I am tuned for. I run 100 plus octane all the time but there have been one or two instnaces on longer road trips that I have been forced to put 93 pump gas into it with no problems whatsoever.

Fwiw,VP's MS109 is highly oxygenated fuel,to get the most out of it u need to add more fuel on your tune....I could be wrong but I think its 5% across the board

You sure? I thought MS109 was non oxygenated 100 octane unleaded and C16/Q16 were oxygenated?

I'll take that bet on a stock car my friend.

All else being equal, there will NOT be a difference on a STCOK car.

C16 won't destroy your sensors right away or from a few runs, but over time, it will eventually damage the O2 sensors. I remember Phil from mbworld joined us at Famoso and he was running a half a tank of C16 and must've made 20+ passes with no problems. However, I do think it's a bit much if there is no tune to take advantage of it Click here to enlarge Since the stock ECU can only adjust timing by very small percentage, you can probably accomplish the same thing by mixing 91 (or 93 if available) with 100 octane.

I was kidding. I can't believe someone would actually even think of running leaded fuel in a modern vehicle. However, I often mix 91 and 100 octane to somewhere around 95 octane and I can tell a difference even though I am not tuned for it.

I have an Evotech tune. I pumped race gas today and dynoed the car. It gave me only 7rwhp. Therefore, I guess without the actual mapping, its really not worth it. I used C16. The shop that had VP109 was closed

Ya, you need a dedicated race tune to see larger gains. 7 whp is still 7 whp.

Thats intresting. I did really feel the engine was giving more pwer this morning. Its still on race gas, I will put it on the dyno today.

Have you tried doing what I did Mike? and did you see any gains?

I dynoed the car once and got pissed off at the results and never did it again, now after basically testing a bunch of different ways of using mixing and all with the race gas and how quickly this car adapts or unadapts for that matter, tried it in a few different cars with different tunes race gas "ms 109" with the car fully adapted prob 20-30 miles of snot beating it then 20- 1/4 mike runs you could see 2-4 mph increase in trap speed. On a basic tune, ask Propain that day we left MIR his car was raw!!!!

No. The shop belongs to my brother :-)

I will send propain a PVT message. I will add some more race gas and kick it hard prior to dynoing it again. Thanks for the info man

congratulation on your hot run. Your signature is still showing the previous 10.78 run
