    We'll see.

I'm tempted by the GT500 or the new Cayman.

The GT does look sweet...but man do you give up some quality and luxury for it. Plus I completely agree with what you said about wanting to beat those people, not join them. Not sure if the cars performance makes up for all of that.

It doesn't and this is why I have always chosen European performance cars. I like beating Domestics more than anything else.

lol...negative rep for saying sticky shouldn't go AWD...

So no GT for you then Sticky. Would hate to see you switch out right after your car is finished.

I'm referring to generally beating domestics in races.

Guys, let me make a suggestion to you.

Think Bridgstone 050 Pole position, aka 140 treadware and almost as good as a R tire. Designed for the SCCA which makes you buy a 140+ Tredware for stock classClick here to enlarge

Once again, and for the last time, "Friends don't let freinds buy Michelins"

Over priced and over rated.Click here to enlarge

My friend, I know you do not have your car yet, but PLEASE go to ANY road race course and see what the fastest guys are using. It will NOT be a PS2, or PS3 etc, etc. Some might be on pilot cup R tires, but for track usage, the Michlen does not winClick here to enlarge

Heck, I even rime nowClick here to enlarge

I am aware of this Sticky, but guess what, what works on the track works on the street very well too, IMHO.

Again, I am NOT denying that it IS a good tire, however I have seen first hand that there are cheaper better tires available.

The Bridgestone I quoted I had on my C32 and would regularly track this car. They dropped almost 2 seconds off my lap times coming off of some Perilies Corsaca. That in itself is a HUGE accomplishment. Heck, I think my Nitto 555's are almost as good as the Michelin's, and they are about half the price of them.

For the street, it is VERY hard to Beat the Goodyear GS-D3, but alas they are fading it out of production and have only a few sizes left. This tire saved my life in the rain one day, when I have a drunken truck driver decide to push me off the road as he wanted to make a turn while I was in my race car. If I could, I would STILL be running the GS-D3's but they no longer have them in my size.

Oh well, GOOD luck with what ever tire you buy, but I think that IF your car is ever running at the power you SHOULD be making that you will end up in smoke. Unless of course you mount some DR'sClick here to enlarge

R compounds for the street? Drag radials / slicks for the street?

There are definitely more affordable options but I think currently in the street tire category this is the class leader so there is no better "cheaper" alternative.

All the tires I quoted are NOT R compounds. However I use to run Khumo Victorracers on the street on my old race car. Oh the fun, well at least for about 1000 miles anyway.

I hear what you are saying, but I can assure you that I will NOT be buying Michelin's. TOO rich for my blood for what they give in return.

Oh well, enough said and Good luck with your rideClick here to enlarge

I had really good luck with ADVAN NEOVA AD08s. They hydroplane really easy though. Those Toyo R888s look fun...

Hoosier R and A comps are awesome too!
