And because it doesnt have dual overhead cams means Corvette's C5R LeMans racecar cant tango with the Porsches? When it did all day and ran without any hiccups whatsoever? At the 24hrs of Road Atlanta it actually dialed back its laptimes cuse it was so damn far ahead of the competition.
I don't see what the 7 speed trans they put in for MPG reasons has to do with the engineering of the motor. Chevy just skips gears to play MPG games manipulating the test.

Corvette's C5R car can tango with Porsche's because its so much larger. The fact Porsche did what it did to the Vettes in ALMS for so long speaks better of whose engineering?

one overall Daytona 24 Hour win, six Le Mans class victories, and eight ALMS championships. For less than 10 years worth of racing, I dont think thats bad, do you? I dont count Porsche in with the overall LeMans victories because its usually won by their Prototypes or their 'non road-going' models. Corvette puts up a fight everywhere, and a damn good one at it, considering they are very new to the european road racing circuit.

The Vettes do a great job racing but let's not forget Porsche is doing it with less cylinder and less displacement. That takes quite a well engineered motor, right? They don't just drop in the biggest motor in the class and call it a day.
