why is everything such a top secret mission to get info these days.........lol
Top Secret??? It's simple, I am not the vehicle owner therefore I am not going to post info about someone elses car. This is a car being built for a big client for the bigggest car show in the world, I highly doubt they want me publicizing details on the car before it's official unveiling. I could care less if anyone believes me or not, I saw the car with my own two eyes and if you wait a week you will be able to see it or you can get to vegas and somehow get a badge to get inside the show. I assume FMU or the car owner is going to do a full press release when the car is unveiled.

i'm not saying you didn't see the vehicle . we can all go to FMU's website and see some of the car . it looks crazy . i was just making a joke about the proof because of everyone else that doesn't believe anything without pics or receipts .

and as far as somehow get a badge.....i have been to Sema for the past 6 years , other than last year , and i get my badge through my company . i remember when Sema was a hell of a lot bigger than it is now ( when there was 1 complete building for nothing but wheels ) . last time i went , the wheel building was 1/3 of the building . i might make the trip up there next year Click here to enlarge

I find this hard to believe considering your posts over on MBW regarding "sponsorship" of this car when in fact it is a marketing investment being made by RBM as they stated. Or, perhaps you just don't know the definition of "sponsorship" ?

Have you ever seen a picture of his CLK? One look and you would likely believe that he can get into SEMA.

Oh god....what a clueless post. I wasn't questioning his ability to modify his car - there is nothing difficult about that at all, it just takes money. You missed the point entirely.
I know guys from Bubba's wheel and tire in Alabama that go there too - attending SEMA isn't a badge of honor nor does it make you some sort of automotive genius.

If you say I missed the point of your post, then I can respect that.

However, you missed the point of mine as I never commented on whether it was "cool" to be able to attend SEMA. Wow, and my post was only one line... sheesh. haha

What your post said essentially was that simply because someone can modify their car, they can attend SEMA and also that they possess some sort of automotive knowledge that makes attending SEMA special based on the mods to theirs car.
I was simply stating that any idiot can attend SEMA. I've been numerous times and it's full of people who don't know the difference between carbureted and fuel injected.

Okay, so, since you responded... The part I bolded was what I was saying, in essence. And then everything you wrote after that was not what I was saying.

I know points don't always transmit perfectly through typing.

SEMA cars tend to toss a red flag for me. some of the worst custom work I've seen on modern cars has come from SEMA. The cars don't run right, The work tends to be rushed, ect... Not saying this is true with every car that goes to SEMA, but there are their fair share of hacks that put cars into SEMA. IMO the best cars that go to SEMA are the ones not really build with the idea of going to SEMA. One things for sure SEMA cars don't have to run all that well to make their way into someones booth.

IMO the good cars and good handfull of quality vendors make there way to the Barrett Jackson's of the world. IF you like SEMA for reasons other than Casinos, Limos, and the Spearmint Rhino. Check out Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale AZ. Its is a great time. Massive car show, lots of quality vendors, great nightlife. Worth the trip for the car enthusiast.

Who knows though, I'm one an 45min flight to Vegas so I might head up to SEMA this year.

Most of the cars are there to show off parts and are visual accessories, almost like models. We don't ask the girls standing next to the cars if they have personalities as it does not matter. They are there to look good and show off the merchandise.

Totally agree with you on that point. If I could show you these two SEMA cars that passed my way last year. Man, the body work was just horrible and you could tell it was rushed in order to make it to SEMA. I met this minor league baseball player that bought this Mustang from SEMA. Its primary thing was to show off the cars audio system. The system didn't even work. In the end this guy had blown his whole signing bonus on this Mustang. He ended up selling it for like 15k when he bought it for 90K!!!! Ouch! I slightly feel bad for the kid as he didn't even make it to the pros..or at least not yet.

what do you find hard to believe ? that i have been to Sema for the past years ? if that's what you question , maybe i should post my badges from Sema....lol . i first started going in 1995 when i had my '94 Z28 because J.R. Granatelli ( owner of Paxton Superchargers ) was coming out with a supercharger for the Z28 . that was my first taste , and i loved it . then i got into the whole carshow thing with my CLK 430 . that's when i met Red from DUB and he told me that they throw monster parties during Sema . i had been going up there to check out the show and hit the DUB parties at "THE BEACH " .

if you are questioning why i ask about the sponsorship thing......i ask because i have more respect for someone that creates a masterpiece with their own hard earned money , rather than getting freebies . a marketing investment is exactly like having a sponsorship on the car . the owner of the vehicle does not pay for everything being done to it . don't get me wrong , i think the car is going to be incredible and i will be the first to give it the credit it deserves .

so with all that said...marketing investment , sponsorship , freebies , handouts.....whatever technical term you would like to use....that's exactly what i was wondering ?

you should go back to MBW and see the thread where the owner of the car first posted and maybe you will see that i was the first to compliment him on the car .

i invested all my money in my showcar with only 4 sponsors ( VISA , DISCOVER , AMERICAN EXPRESS and MASTERCARD ) . i love to hit a show and hear people compliment the car when it's all my money and time that went into it .

anything else you would like to know about me ?
