Worlds Strongest Man - 30 Years of Pain

Saw this in the Bodybuilding.com Powerlifting section. It was a pretty interesting video, and is basically a recap of all the major competitors of the past 30 years. I found it very motivational, and thought I would share.

    Enjoy,

I am not into the bodybuilding thing, but I was always fascinated by the worlds strongest man competition because it wasnt a show of how much someone could dead lift, or how big someones biceps are, but real strength.

I remember that guy magnusson, I think he won like 3 times in a row. And nother scandanavian guy won like 7 years in a row, I think he was finnish. Anyway, they really are nuts.

I agree, while I'm not very old compared to a lot of the members of this forum, I some of my earliest memories are filled with watching these contests. Probably what keeps me training hard everyday.

I'm pretty sure I remember the Finnish guy. I used to watch those things all day whenever I found it on TV.

Nobody has ever won 7 World's Strongest Man competitions in total. The most that anybody had won is 5. Not in a row.

I will post up some pictures of myself competing in the local region championship (Suurnes)... i came in 2nd last year (with a 2 point mismatch)...

But you remember the "Finnish Guy" ? to my best knowledge there have only been two finland winners of the WSM event, and they are Juoku Ahola and Janne Virtanen and they did not win 7 times in a row. Juoku won 2 times and Janne Virtanen 1 time!

Magns Ver Magnsson is an Icelander as myself and has won 3 consecutive competitions, 4 in total. This is the same as Bill Kasmayer but he won 3 consecutive aswell.

I think the most legendary competitor in the Strongman buisness is without a doubt Jn Pll Sigmarsson, but he is STILL praised by anyone who knows anything about this buisness.

However Mariusz Pudzianowski is also a all time favourite of mine, he holds the record for most wins, wich is 5 but they were not consecutive !

Janne Virtanen. That's the guy I remember.
And BTW, I didn't mention anything else about him. I just said I'm sure I remember him, not how many times he won.
