Roof racks - made of teak wood carrying 1940's furniture. Air suspension and ghetto modified sheetmetal wide bodies. Cutting shock mounts out and moving them up SIX inches into the car regardless of how it looks from the inside. Absolute ghetto fabrication. Swap engines - driveshaft doesn't reach? Use a piece of fence post in between.

Terrible terrible trend. Then the sad part is people idolize these idiots "Dude, so fit, so low, stanced perfect, love the rust, so unique" - whatever.

No this is a new trend across the world. Its been going on for years but people are doing it to BMW/Mercedes and less keyed in people are giving those people the credit.

I guess I'm getting old LOL...funny you should mention the "I don't give a $#@! attitude", I had a friend that had a brand new BMW 750 and when he bought it he vowed to never wash it...and he never did, I think he had the first black on black 7 series 10 years ago before it was cool, although he never painted his wheels, they turned solid black from brakedust and dirt, he owned that car for 3 years and I honestly don't think he ever did wash it. He thught he was cool because he had a $100k car and he could afford to not pay for it, I called it Euro Trashing but I guess its called "stancing" he wasa pioneer and didn't even know it LOL. Total waste if you ask me, but different stroke for different folks I guess.

Dude I have. But this whole thing is totally different. The people who ghetto'fy an E60 is one thing but for the most part you can revert it, or at least it fits their persona. But the $#@! we're talking about is straight up stupidity.

The best part is that car burned down. It burned down when the owner was trying to get an M30 engine to run on a pallete and somehow lit gasoline on fire with battery terminals and burned down his entire rental property garage.

    Science.

so is this a west coast thing??? I am from Chicago and we have plenty of rusted out rides here because of the millions of pounds of salt they pour onto our roads all winter long. Maybe I will start a "stance" parts company selling rusty fenders and doors.
