Review of Akebono brake pads and a surprising benefit to 20' Vossen CV3's

Today, my OCD took hold and washed, glazed and waxed the car...this gave me an opportunity to evaluate how "dustless" akebono brakes are - here's the quick run down - pretty dam dustless. . . here's pics of the wheels after about 600 miles (driven in the rain, dry, highway, backroads, etc and not TOUCHED for those 600 miles - no wheel wax - no prep....nothing):

Wondering now if I should add brakes to this forum section?

    Makes sense, right?

I think so - unfortunately, I'm not too well versed on the BMW/Audi/Porsche side of things (as well as the other Merc platforms) but for the 211 platform it's something that constantly comes up, from where to get the least expensive rotors, what pads squeal, leave no brake dust, where to get them painted/powdercoated in what area etc. For example, pads all around and rotors are about 700.00 for parts for an E55 where as the two piece rotors for the E63 (still a 211 are close to a 1000.00 a pop) which makes people start to ask where they can find inexpensive OEM parts, can 55 rotors be put on a 63 you get the idea....another component of it is something that can possibly be another stand alone section in and of itself - "how to DIY blank...."

Either way I say go for it!!!!!!!

Thank you sir - got an ELM on the way where I'll be able to drop (and raise) the suspension on the fly - can you say "slammed" when parkedClick here to enlarge. They're going to the track next week so we'll see if there's a penalty for running 20'sClick here to enlarge

Probably best to leave that in model/chassis then so it is easy to find parts relating to your platform to brakes.
