    Need cell phone service advice.

Ok, I dont have the time to search through all this bull$#@! cell phone advertising propaganda. I need facts.

My contract with ATT is up and I need to buy two new phones and put my wife on my account on some kind of family plan. My usage statistics are about 600 minutes a month for me and 300-400 for my wife.

I want a smartphone, preferrably an HTC or LG. My wife does not want a smart phone, she wants a phone with buttons (cheapish type phone) because my son will take her phone most of the time and throw it across the room.

Anyway, I'm tired of searching the web only to come up with no answers to my questions.

    I want:

1000 combined minutes for me and her
data plan for my smart phone with unlimited $#@!
    1500 text messages (combined)
    Nothing fancy otherwise

Looking for a good plan, tired of getting raped by phone companies.

I currently have the option to switch to any provider since my contract is finished with ATT.

    Thanks

i hate sprint, switched due to the fact that my phone never rang and i got in assloads of trouble from work.

never had ATT, but heard good things.

currently have verizon, unlimted for me and the wife. i have droid incredible 2, love it. she had iphone, had blackberry. we pay i think $100 each for unlimited everything, but that might be the old plan as i think they are revamping it

Sprint def sucks ass! Company phones are on sprint and coverage is weak. I'm currently on AT&T with 2 smart phones and pay around 120 for a family share plan unlimited text and data. Not certain how many minutes I get.
Had Verizon for many years and I miss their coverage.

Sprint had the best call quality out of anyone I experienced.

I use Att now and only because I wanted an Iphone.

    Honestly, they all suck.

I left ATT, had two iphones. I just got fed up with their bull$#@! and all the dropped calls.

Sprint is the only US provider that has no cap on data usage. Unlimited means unlimited data.

You know, I found I don't really use much data, but that's probably because my $#@!ty iphone only supports edge. I'm about to throw this $#@! out the window and grab me a 4G phone.

I'm on tmo's old "unlimited" plan which is capped at 5GB, anything after is edge speeds.

nothing is BIAS about DO NOT GO TO $#@!ING SPRINT!!

My phones would show 100% signal. and i would get a voicemail message, check, and it would be 5-6 voicemails from 3-4 days ago because my goddamn phone never rang. i would see people on weekends, or better, have to call them and ask whats up, and they would tell me i never responded to their texts, so plans changed ect..

i tried 5 different $#@!ing phones and the same thing happened to every one of them, and it showed full service all the time.. there service sucks..

    Verizon, i havent been happier..

dude, LM, that was just your experience... i have to agree with fastgti, it all depends on where you live. maybe in jersey, sprint sucks, okay... well in florida, sprint has the best coverage, at least south florida, my friends and i have done many comparisons, including testing dead zones and seeing which phones work.. etc. and according to sticky, where he lives in cali, sprint is working well for him. its all subjective.

dan, since you're in fl/sofla like me sprint maybe the way to go, they have an amazing unlimited data plan, and have a wide array of phones (as does every other provider for that matter) to choose from for you and your wife.

In phoenix t mobile was sweet. Great reception 3g everywhere. I had unlimited everything for 80 a month with no damn contract.
In nor cal t mobile sucks. 3g is almost nowhere, even basic call reception is in and out depending what sonoma/napa back roads Im on.

Had sprint they could not update my address. For an entire year they sent my bill somewhere else!

I personally dont like verizon. A friend had them and they kept getting billed after cancelling service month after month. 6 months later they were still getting billed!

If your in a big metro area, I would say go tmobile, cheapest rates and plans. If the att buy falls through tmobile will get 3 billion cash from att. Its 50/50 to fall through right now.
If your not in a big metro area its crap shoot. Find the plan thats best for your individual needs.(im with att now 450 min unlimited to all cell phones, unlimited data, 1500 texts for 70 a month)

I currently have ATT but I never really had any complaint about them. I just want to reduce my monthly bill a little bit and score a good deal on some new phones. My friend SWEARS by sprint. But I honestly think its all the same $#@!.

I've been with AT&T for about 6 years straight, with 4 phones at a time.
