First of all, I meant strictly for fun not for racing. Would be cool to have this whole group together strictly to see the interaction in person. I know I'd have fun with it.

You have to know the right spots in Vegas. Andy, I guarantee you would have a great time and get back to your room as the sun was coming up if not later (hopefully with some nice women). That is not college partying Click here to enlarge

But yes, I'm sort of over partying as well and it isn't as cool as it once was. But hey, it's something to do. Anyway, I have to go shower and get dressed so I'm not late to the party tonight... Click here to enlarge

Oh, and for the record, my idea of a great vacation is in the mountains during the winter with a nice girl and a case of fine wines.

I know you have great taste but I'm no stranger to seeing the sun come up, multiple days in a row with no sleep in fact. LOL, that was college partying and thankfully I survived it.

I'm sure it would be a blast with that crew you're right. When are you going?

I'm not sure if Jim or I bought the last bottle when we last got together...

How about Go Pro vid of me driving an SLS GT3 FIA car around Hockenheim in full race trim including slicks and Pics/Vids from the pits. Click here to enlarge

BTW, they are still testing the Dunlop R compounds for the C63 BS at the Ring. Word is they are unfucking real.

I won't miss the hangover but my kidneys should be shot from the beating they'll take sitting in the CF tub/seat.

Nah, that will just make me jealous.

That means yes in case someone has trouble with sarcasm.

These Dunlop R compounds seem like a pretty big deal and Mercedes is hyping them a bit as well. I'm hoping they live up to it.

Actually it might have been Marco but I can't even remember. There were several bottles consumed that night and I still remember how early we made it to the track the next morning LMAO...I think we got to the track at 2:00pm and the event started at 9:00 am. Andy knew how to party, I can attest to that, although it's been two years and he might have lost it since then. Click here to enlarge

I haven't lost it completely yet, just leaning that direction as the years go on.

Man that rental was a disaster. Still got the job done but more than a few hours late. ROFL. Governor Palin. Click here to enlarge

    Joseph,

As you know the objective is to go faster and not slower next month. A teaser shot or two for you...note this is still a work in progress.

Luke - you should try and get out.

    Earl, that is beautiful.

Looks like around 150 pounds gone? Then again, what does the cage add? Very nice.

The Weistec engraving is really a nice touch.

I second Luke coming out, would be an interesting person to meet as well.

The cage is C.M. so it will be light (I think around 50 lbs). I have part numbers and a contact in Germany for the carbon door panels so that will be some more weight gone without changing the look too much. I think the theory is 100 lbs equals a 10th at the qtr so this combined with 30 degree lower temperatures should make for fun....

Carbon door panels? Wow, going big time on the weight reduction and that is a good place to cut weight although pricey.

Looking forward to seeing how it looks.

Yes, rule of thumb is a 10th and mph per 100 gone.

And what type of weight savings do they offer?

My guess would be 10 or 20 a side. Now if I stop eating for three weeks we could get a total of 200 pounds off the car!

Let the carbon fiber do its job and keep eating.

Should make for a nice difference not to mention having the cage for peace of mind.

Roll bar is probably closer to 70 pounds, the weight savings with the seats is HUGE and more than offsets the weight of the roll bar. Looks Great!!!

Earl, is the roll bar painted or raw in those pics, I assume raw but hard to tell? If raw are you going to paint or powder coat it or wrap it in leather or alcantara?

The weight of all the CM material was 50 pounds (8 point cage). Add 5 pounds for the welds and say 2 pounds for the powder coat and we are all in at under 60 pounds. Will use padding for the areas concerning area where the helmet could come into contact so everything is approved for 10.0.

A couple more goodies over the winter (which we will discuss in person next month) and we are looking at 9's in good air come January in Bradenton!!!
