Sometimes the best place to put your car is inbetween two buildings (if you can find a place like that) or leave your expensive car in someone elses building garage and keep your beater in your garage.

Also, make sure you buy lots of fuel because gas stations are the first place people go before and after a storm. Also youll want to get jugs of water, and beer; lots and lots of beer.

The wind is picking up and it's starting to be scary but I don't think it's full force just yet. My car is in the street....probably going to get $#@!ed up. Power flickered off and on, I'll try to check back with the board in an hour. If I don't I probably lost power.

Still here, the storm is getting closer to us. The sustained winds are not that bad but the gusts are pretty powerful. A part of my neighbors fence collapsed, he's on his porch smoking a cigarette looking at it now. Weather.com says it's going to hit us the hardest at sunrise, but the storm has been weakened. The NYC subways are probably full of water right now.

I've got over a 100 gal of gas, generator, tons of beer, food, did I mention the beerClick here to enlarge

Funny, when I was filling up the cars and gas cans yesterday, the guy next to me was doing the same thing and i said, "I'm going to get the beer next." he laughed and said, "I got the beer first"Click here to enlarge
One of my local gas stations was sold out of gas yesterday and the liquor store was mobbed too--I picked up some really nice brews and polished off a couple already.
Pretty $#@!in windy here right now and the rain is epic.

I'll keep you all posted as much as possible--be safe and "stay thirsty"Click here to enlarge

+1 waitin' on sr20 and GG for a scene report.

FWIW tho it doesn't take much wind to take power out, they're probably just hot as hell.

    .
you forgot about me...I live like 10 min from sr20 lol....

We lost power last night around 2. We were getting power surges for 2-3 hours before hand, kept pissing me off cuse my computer would bug out.

Around 2 I heard a bang down the block and the power went off. Came back on about 10 min later, followed by another rapid succession of 3 bangs, then everything went out again. Power is still off on my block at least, Rt 110 is dark, but there are some buildings down on main street that are still functioning, on the north side of 109. Have a tree that put up a pretty good fight in the backyard, its leaning at a 40 degree angle, trying to come out of the ground lol.

I went back to my girls house in Valley Stream to take a shower and clean up...been out with the chainsaw and my friends father cleaning up the street so we can get around.

::nodding solemnly:: i felt a disturbance in the Dark Side, and saw E36 highbeams briefly flash my windows last night.. i took a mouthful of Bac-O's and washed it down with a beer..

Sounds like it was a respectable storm if it affected strong trees.. I hope sr20's car is ok..

Jet skis on the street, yikes.. I'm curious about the rats too!

No sympathy-baiting CamelToe!! (i keed, glad you're ok.. hope your upholstry is!)
