Pagani Huayra not released for the USA until 2013
So you like the Pagani Huayra?
Thinking about owning one?
Well, if you live in the USA this car is not for you.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has judged the Huayra unsafe for public roads.
The problem is the ommision of special air bags with child detection, and adapt the force of the air bags accordingly.
Pagani has asked the NHTSA to make a exeption for the Huayra be able to let the car into the USA with regular air bags, but that request was denied.
The NHTSA judged that "Pagani was unable to prove that serious efforts were made to meet USA regulations".
Pagani still wants to bring the car to the USA market, but wants it to meet USA as well as European safety regulations.
So the USA launch of the Pagani Huayra has been posponed to 2013.
The car, for those who forgot, has a biturbo V12 which produces 700bhp, a 0-62 time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 230 mph.

^ I lol'd
but seriously, doesn't common sense indicate that if you own this car you are intelligent enough to either leave the infant with the nanny or take another car from the fleet you obviously have? Fail NHTSA
