I've hit the 4k limiter before, but only when I'm in gear.

I was referring to brake torque'ing the car when it's in drive. That's when the 4k limiter comes into play.

Driving impressions so far are really good. The car pulls like a freight train on the highway and chirps out in 2nd or 3rd gear when I floor it...all in all it does feel more powerful than stock but i'm not sure if it feels 60-80WHP more powerful. I was hoping to confirm this last night at Englishtown...

So I hit the track last night...2 hours and only got 2 runs in. The first run was a wash ran a 13.9 at 111 because my traction was way off. My second run was 13.1 @ 114. The main issue here is traction - I tried launching the car the same way I had when it was stock but there is just too much power and I spun all the way through 3rd gear. I torque brake and drop at 1500 then once the tires hook, i floor it. The issue I was having yesterday was that when the car hooked up and I floored, I started going sideways!

Long and short of it is that I need more time to learn how to launch this car. I also need to break the new tires in. I'll be back at the track next week where I hope to get more runs so I can find the sweet spot and launch it properly. I wish I had more definitive data to share after last night by the jury is still out as far as track times go. The car certainly feels faster, I'm just hoping that I can quantify the improvement with track data.

Atco? I'll have to see if I can swing by next weekend. The car feels like an absolute monster on the highway, I'm just afraid to get on it on public roads. I'm hoping to get a chance to give it some highway pulls against comparable cars at some point this summer.

Agreed but surely I should be able to improve my times somewhat on street rubber. At some point, I'll get a set of DRs but right now, it's just a hassle since this car is my warm weather DD.

You won't improve your 60 foot on street tires, your trap speeds may increase, but the ET not much.

For example, at my last trip to the track, I was trapping around 120 at about 11.6 with a 60 of 1.8X. I was next to a dedicated strip car with 15" MT drags cutting a 60 of 1.5X in the high 10s with a trap of about 120. So at least in my limited experience, you gotta have a good 60 for a good ET, thus drag radials. More HP won't solve the problem. You should try Nitto 285/35/18 if you're still on stock rims. Just don't drive 'em in the rain with low tread... Otherwise, they work great as a DD.

I understand. I'll have to seriously consider it then...because my 60' is struggling to get below 2.1

Wait until the track you run requires you to get a rollbar and wheel studs.....that's what I'm up against. It's like owning a damn boat...

Drag racing expensive?? I guess it's objective. I think drag racing is the cheapest form of motorsports. But then again, it costs me $1500/hr to run my boat Click here to enlarge

Compared to your boat drag racing is cheap but consider this

    Fuel $160
I go through a set of Drs each time $400-500
    Rental fee 100-200
The allege mods and goodies involved it's easy for me to drop $1000 to run for the day

Road course prob cost the same?

Agreed, it adds up fast. And my hourly boat running costs are pretty cheap in comparison to other similar offshore "go fast" boats. I think road course racing is much more demanding on the car and it's components especially if you are talking about the weekend warrior - plus it's A LOT easier to wad your car up on a road course as well, the brakes and all 4 tires take a beating. If you compare road course to drags at the professional level the gap gets even bigger. Hell, top fuel guys do a complete engine tear down after every run. But that's at the highest pro level of drag racing. Compare it to F1...the pinnacle of road racing and it's not even close. Top F1 teams spend more than $50 million PER RACE. It's pretty insane and this is after the FIA has done a lot to keep operating costs down LOL.

I'm going to see if I can make it back tomorrow night...it's supposed to be cooler.

On another note, it's about 72 degrees in Brooklyn right now and the car is running ridiculously strong...this tune really shines on the top end from 70mph and up!
