JRCART Weistec supercharged CLK63 Black Series 1/4 mile results from Fontana in the Summer

No records, but not bad for conditions, went 10.8s with poor track prep , crappy 1.74 60ft 80 degrees. Onboard and external GoPro vids and slips will be posted tomorrow. Videos will clearly show shifts at wot. It was a ricer test and tune so didn't get too many passes.

10.8 at what mph and how much boost did you run?

11psi thats a hell of a start and I bet we're gonna see low 10s if not better in the fall from it.

15psi and thats a lot of boost for a high 10 even in summer, 80 isn't too hot I thought it would be 100+ there now.

Can you see a boost guage clearly in the vids?

Was the car shifted in Manual mode at all or all auto?

    Thx

And no matter the answers to the above congrats on running it and again setting the bar in a new way. You already have the forced induction record, not a bad start. Click here to enlarge

    Very nice, congrats.

With this weather and at Fontana that is actually something to be proud of. I don't think most people understand what kind of strip that is (as in, one of the worst).

Good start how was the car prepped? Tires, interior, skinnies? Fill us in we've waited along time?

    I'd rather run at Englishtown.

On a day like today open to the public you have all kinds of crap at the track. That may sound harsh, but it's true, a ton of crap you do not want to be associated with shows up and you only get a few passes. Combine that with poor prep and a slow track in California heat and well, 10.8 is a hell of a job.

I have been to Fontana many times I know the track. I used to run it even before they changed the direction of it where it ran into a headwind and got even slower.

You asked, I told you where I would rather run. I doubt anyone is setting record times right now but the point is really that Fontana sucks and on a test N tune day is horrible.

Very nice top track mile an hour! I see easy low 10s in good air at a decent track. Can you please confirm the amount of boost and whether the car was shifted in auto or manual for the run above?

    Thk you!

    Thanks!

Did you think about using the 15psi pulley?

I was thinking about this too. In the interview Steve said there is a 3-4 psi, i cant recall exactly, difference in boost levels with sls cams. So for someone with stock cams they can expect this kind of performance with 8-9psi? If so why not run lower boost and the stock cams, or are you seeing a hp tradeoff at the top of the tach?

    Thx!!

Good job guys. Jim - are you able to meet in Vegas on the 19th? Runs will likely be slower but...well....its vegas so I am sure the after racing events will be better!

Congrats Jim,thats a very respectable number for a hot summer run&the mph shows serious potential when it cools down. Id say 135+ easily in the fall as a start. Bring that $#@! to MIR in October Click here to enlarge
