Tommy Kendall hot lap in CLKBS

I took this video on Friday May 13th at Lime Rock Park as part of an AMG Academy program I did that day.
TK was a cool dude to all of us and we were all allowed a hot lap around the track in a CLKBS.
I already took one lap with my instructor, but I wanted to go with Tommy too--so I asked if I could do another hot lap, this time with TK.Click here to enlarge
All the people were cool and had no problem with me sneaking one last hot lap inClick here to enlarge
Before I hopped in, I asked TK if he wanted to do another lap because I had to do one with him.
He was totally cool and said, "I'll do this all day."

During the video, we shoot the $h!t about his collection of cars and his thoughts on the CLKBS.
Enjoy--sorry for my giddy school girl laughter in the beginning of the video, but after thrashing AMG cars all day long, lets just say I was on cloud 9Click here to enlarge

WOW - thanks for posting. I agree with his thoughts on the BS and plan to keep mine forever. He was pussy-footing that thing around...wasn't even pushing it.

He was not pussy-footing it for the first lap around--videos always seem so much slower than the real thing.
Before we pulled into the pit he slowed down a bit; I think he was cooling the brakes down--he had done a quite a few hot laps before I got in.
Here's a vid I posted of him flying down the straightaway--

    Nice video

TK is a really down to earth guy. I have met him before, back in the day.

I agree, it might look slow, but hearing the tires and having that car, he was dancing on the edge, that too and good drivers do it smooth and you only know how fast when you see their times.

P31-C63, as for being a little floating that day, yea, its normal and a good sign you were maxing on the time there, felt the same when tracking my CLK-BS last, was so high I was handing my keys to friends and saying, tear it up, then we both giggle like little kids all through the road course, especially the 120+ mph top speed portion of the airport we were at.

Congrats on scoring a ride with such a man at the wheel. As for the backend being a little fishy, the stock Corsa tires need a few hot laps before they get into their own, but then they will stick, where as a good street tire might grip more at first, then just smear after heating up. I rather enjoy mine when cold, I can drift around corners with little effort and little speed, and with minimal cop-attention grabbing engine sounds (tire sound either, pretty quiet when cold slipping), but mine are also years past their prime, I hear 20-30 heat cycles and there abouts 2 years and they are done, so 4 years on mine and they are a drifters dream, not taking them off till they are bald.

Thanks again for sharing man, nice track too, would not take long to learn it and do some good runs!
