    2017-2018 NFL Thread

Time to get this going with all the big moves. Looking for @135pats to chime in with what he knows.

Romo released and it looks like the Texans are making space for him as they ditched Osweiler. I can't believe the Browns took on that contract. They got a second pick. So, 16 million for a second rounder?

It's not like the Browns are going to contend any time soon but wow.

    RGIII is getting released.

    Ravens sign Danny Woodhead.

Things are getting really shaken up. Should be a fun season.

Romo release was cancelled for a trade instead, i assume Texans but I would love to see how it happened. Did the cowboys see Osweiler get released and then cancel the release to get something out of them?

Mike Glennon is the Bears starting quarterback? Good luck with that.

Patriots get Brandin Cooks. They will repeat if Gronk stays on the field...

You're right. It's amazing the Patriots are getting even better.

The other teams just give them whatever they want. Before that cooks trade, it was all but confirmed that Butler would have to be involved for them to get cooks. Then Bill pulls a rabbit out of a hat and only gives up his late 1st? Add to it that Saints have been toying with the idea of giving Butler an offer, which the Pats could then decide not to match and would get #11 in the 1st. That trade would end up being Butler #32 and a 3rd for #11 , Cooks and a 4th.

    Raider relocation to Vegas approved.

I really like this deal. Go to Vegas, see a game, etc. Going away from Oakland is a good thing.

Its been a long time coming for a team to get to Vegas.
It is going to be the one place that has no home field advantage, but sold out games every week. A true entertainment atmosphere, especially once the casino and hookers get involved.

Hookers? In Vegas? Have you no shame sir?

Seriously now that you mention it that's the only venue I'd buy tickets to watch a game at.

Reading now that all the suites have built in stripper poles. And they are taking from The Replacements and having strippers be the cheerleaders.

thought for sure he would go to the Texans. Definitely a smart move on his end though and its the move I wanted him to make. After the recent injuries, it wouldnt take much to cripple him. Hes made enough money over the years to think about quality of life now. And Im sure hes getting a nice check from CBS.

I think the Texans are now back on the phone with Cleveland like, can we get Brock back please?

I thought so too but I guess they didn't want to pay for him. Surprised Dallas won't just release him.

I seriously doubt that. I'd rather have no quarterback than Brock.

I dont know, the Texans played their hand way too early in hopes of getting Romo and are now sitting with Savage and Weeden at QB. Neither of which are any good or are a reliable option.

Might be able to snag one late in the 1st or 2nd, but probably not a guaranteed day 1 starter.

Brock isn't good or reliable either and they shed the contract. Getting rid of him is a huge win IMO.

They will draft a QB but honestly if there isn't some standout why waste a high pick? They have a solid defense they just need to strengthen a few key positions and run the ball with Miller.

They don't need to have a Luck or a Rodgers to win. They just need someone who doesn't make mistakes and that certainly was not Brock.

they just need someone that defenses will respect. Lamar Miller is good, but not good enough to consistently run into an 8/9 man box.

Even someone like Cutler I think could come in and do decent for them. They need someone who can throw, but not someone that has to carry them. Cutler can manage the game if he isnt asked to carry the team.

I agree. They need to use him more out of the backfield with passes and pitches though. If he has space he's devastating.

Adrian Peterson reportedly will leave New England without a contract, thank god. That scum bag can play on someone else's team.

10 years ago smacking your kids silly with a switch was acceptable; now people has become too pussy.

Im glad he isnt signing due to other reasons. Like, the possibility of another team winning the sb.

Since Romo got his full release he can sign with anyone now. I still think he might change his mind.
