Mercedes twin turbo V8 tuning gets going - BRABUS releases PowerXtra CGI kits for M157 V8, 620 horsepower

We all knew with Mercedes going to twin turbo V8's that tuning would naturally follow. Brabus in getting in on the act with their PowerXtra kit which depending on engine spec has different outputs. For the standard M157 without the performance package power is raised to 584 horsepower. For performance package cars, the gain is up to 620 horsepower. We don't see why both can not hit 620 since they have the same turbos and the main difference between the performance package and standard is mostly software tuning to begin with.

    Pricing is 5900 Euros.

I doubt Brabus is anywhere near as aggressive as they could be.

+1... Brabus is usually conservative with their tuning, I'm sure other companies will reach 650 hp and then you'll start seeing headers, intake, exhaust, etc.... I think the engine should be good for at least 700 hp with just bolt-ons.

I agree, 700 hp will be pretty much normal for these.
