    My new AR15

This is where I have been for the past few months. I owe it all to Sticky, if it wasn't for him posting a video comparing the AR15 to the Ak47, I would never have gotten into this $#@!. Now I need to spread the mod money amongst to hobbies.

I was originally going to build something basic and low cost, but I have a very addictive personality, especially for toys. This is what it yielded :43:

Built it myself and it cost be about $2k total.

    NICE!!

beautiful. i might say try it out, we have found that that extended mag release doesnt do very well, its gets held up on both catching and releaseing the mag. and if your truely baller, try out an eotech 552 sight, and a CAA grooved pistol grip- you will love the feel once you add that. oh, and an extended T handle for easier manipulation Click here to enlarge

other than id say its perfect!

I've shot about 400 rounds already with the Magpul BAD (extended bolt release) and it has worked flawlessy. I got the Primary Arms red dot just to see what I like. Honestly though, I am not going to war anytime soon and don't need that extra 5% of reliability. People have abused the $#@! out of the Primary Arms micro dot and it has held zero and worked perfectly. The CAA grip is on my list of grips to buy. I originally wanted it, but none of the vendors I was placing orders with for other stuff carried it.

I am already thinking about another build, either a AR10 or a Tikka T3 in .308 Click here to enlarge

Very Nice, and not bad financial damage at all.

I like that Micro-Dot, nice and compact. How's the sight pic?

(and yeah, 2 hobbies can be a pinch; was in a hurry for my Delta Elite to get off the smith's bench, but after a recent SC purchase i'm hoping he takes his time, heh).

Hey man Arfcom's ok. They rescued the 10mm forum when it needed a new home.

Are you accusing our friend of build-creep? Click here to enlarge

Hey Mspired you oughtta check out my secret weapon for that thing, Goshen's "Keeper" porting. It's actually an internal muzzle brake with some chambers carved into your barrel and some side-mounted holes to vent it. Barely takes any english off the round and totally flattens the shots. Really tamed my G20. Not to hijack your thread but here's a pic just so you can see what i'm talking about: Click here to enlarge. And a closeup: Click here to enlarge

EDIT: sorry, i see that flash hider's part of the legal barrel length dammit, so you couldn't use it. I'm kind of an evangelist for this rig, it works so amazingly well. Designer was a music professor and it's literally tuned to the barrel's frequency. Be great for that .308 tho, hotter the round the better it works.

Go for the Tikka T3 308, I bought a savage stainless 308 a little while ago and its a great piece but the Tikka is a step above. Oh and you will want to invest in a heavy barrel if you intend to shoot past 300 yards. One thing i regret is my gun has a thin hunting barrel and exhibits barrel whip, 308 is a powerful round and youll need a thick barrel if you intend to build the gun right.

They make brakes that I can put replace the flash hider with. This is a really nice one:

All I keep hearing is amazing things about the Tikka's. Can't wait to get one. I'd get one now as they aren't that pricey, but then I would need a nice scope, and that is pricey. I think I am going to wait a little bit and buy a nice piece of glass first, use it with the AR for a couple months, then get the Tikka.
