    Best smelling detail product!

Sorry -- not trying to promote solvent abuse or anything like that, but it occurred to me the other day that I always smell my detailing products when preparing my supplies. Other times, the smell is unavoidable, which can be both good and bad.

    Some of my favorites:

Meg's NXT Wax: Very fresh and nice
Zymol Cleaner Wax (OTC): Nice coconuts! Never actually used on a car, but keep for the smell!
Autoglym SRP: Old-skool proper polishy-solvent smell -- reminds me of when I was 17!
    Megs #2: To die for!
ONR: Smells good enough to drink! Keep out of reach of children!
    Mothers Carnauba: mmmmm!
Turtle Wax Ice: Smells like fruity vodka!
Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish: If you're a 'certain' type of person, you could get high on that!

    .. and my least favorite:

Optimum Polish & Optimum Compound. These are disgusting - especially the compound. They have changed the formula in recent times though, and I've not had the pleasure of smelling those! At least they fix scratches well...

I suppose you could include methyl hydrate, since it can be used to remove tree sap .. again, if you're a 'certain' type of person.

I really like the way the Meguiar's tire shine spray smells.

I have the hot wheels one, and it doesn't smell of anything. Defective?

I should have added that I accidently sprayed a little bit of Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber cleaner into my glass of beer the other day. But I was not prepared to waste almost a full pint of beer. It's incredible how such a tiny little drop can drastically change the flavor.. I didn't die though, so arguably a good thing!

Note to self -- always keep detail products away from beer (especially Autoglym .. triggers are sensitive!)

Hahah, nice thread. I also can agree some cleaning products smell better than others, personally hate Armor All. I have the bmw cleaning kit a forum member bought me and it smells pretty damn good. Click here to enlarge

    HA!

I literally just walked back in from the garage and giving the SL600 an Optimum No Rinse wipedown, since we'll have some nice top-down weather tomorrow. I love the smell of that stuff.

And I always buy my products from the poster that I've quoted. My detailer, DJ Mayo turned me on to you guys. Click here to enlarge

I have to agree the NXT is pretty good smelling. I also like the banana smell of the Meguires liquid wax.

I tried 3M car wash yesterday. Smelled like cherries and It soaped up better than my other products (standard BMW car wash, the eco friendly BMW car wash, and I can't remember what else I use).

I purchased some Autoglym Tire dressing yesterday .. man that stuff smells like bad cologne.

Works very well though. Might make the switch from Meg's .. purely because of the superior spray nozzle Click here to enlarge

Almost every Dodo or Chemical Guys product I've tried, smells really good. Usually some kind of fruit/bubble gum/candy scent going on. You can tell they put some thought into it. Click here to enlarge But yeah, PB's wheel sealant watermelon smell is great too.

Zaino smells fantastic as well, particularly their detail sprays. Do a lot of you use NXT?

Meguiars NXT - I've never used it, but if you are familiar with Zaino, I think it is like Z2. I've read some good things about it.

I have to fight the temptation to taste a few products. Here are my personal favorites:

    Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant
Chemical Guys LAVA Luminous Glow Infusion Wax
Chemical Guys Bare Bones Undercarriage Spray
Poorboy's World Natty's Red Paste Wax

All of them smell amazing and we constantly debate the best smelling ones here at the warehouse. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help.
