Just thought I'd mention that a new Porsche 911 Turbo S tried to blow by me and I said:
It was a short blast but I was...
I was born yesterday.
Why would I have the dyno sheet?
I didn't care enough to ask about the mods. I admit I AM curious - especially about whether the turbos were stock or not. But I'm just assuming they're not. I...
It was a customer's car.
I saw that van as it was getting built up but only for a moment as I was distracted by a newish CLS that just dyno'd 850hp. Of course, my attention was on that particular car. When I saw the van it...

I apologize. Sincerely. I've got so much going on right now that I'm losing track of things. I do appreciate your offer.

Reasons I went with Renntech for the transmission:
I'm not taking my car to the track every weekend doing 1/4 mile blasts so I imagine the transmission would probably...

Just a quick update, all has been well. The car is going to Renntech today for a transmission upgrade. I drop the car off this afternoon, I fly to Detroit in the morning for meetings with General...

It may be too early to tell but between replacing all my oxygen sensors and driving the car "harder" things have been much better. There was no check engine light for the oxygen sensors but perhaps...

No, these guys: http://www.jsbenz.net/
I don't think Renntech would want to be involved with tuning a supercharged 6.2 - but I suppose I could always ask.

There IS a very popular Mercedes shop not too far from me - and I wonder if I could go that route. They tune their own vehicles on a dyno. But I'd gladly fly one of the Weistec people out to do some...

Ahh, well... Sort of... When I'm trying to drive "nicely" I'm not in AMG mode and I have not hit the button to turn off traction control - so my car STARTS in second gear. And, yes - it happens then....

I'm pretty confident it'll get worked out. I have this feeling I'll need to send out the ECU or TCU, though. :|

I last spoke with them about a week ago when they told me to have my builder scan for TCU codes and do a reset. I'll get in touch with them again once I get the car back. Hopefully today...

Thanks. I picked up the car on Saturday and right out of the parking lot, with a smooth but lightly firm acceleration, it was like I was on and off the gas like I was trying to lift the front end off...

I'm leaving my car with my builder tomorrow and he's going to check for TCU codes and reset the transmission. I was then told to drive the car hard for 150 miles. I may be driving it too softly. I...

We're working out some drivability issues where it seems the car is sometimes a little confused, under soft acceleration, in-between shifts, whether I want to go fast or slow after the gear switch....

Good. It's sometimes a little jumpy from the start if I hit the gas a little aggressively but it's not too bad. I'm smelling some fumes in my garage when I start the car (if I get out) so I'm really...

Yeah, it was just a little more acceleration than normal there. Now if I go really light on the gas it sounds stock. That's fine.
09-09-2014, 07:01 PM
Well, I need to give credit to the long tube headers and high flow cats to be honest... Now keep in mind that this is with the windows closed and normal acceleration. Open the windows and it's a lot...

I'll change my signature now. As long as I'm easy on the gas it still sounds like a stock E63 but when I put it into sport mode (allowing higher revs) and/or become a little heavier on the gas - it...

I have the car. It's insane. I'll have more details tomorrow. It's just nuts...
09-05-2014, 10:56 PM
Thank you. Apparently there's also a big difference in exhaust tone going from the short tube headers to the long tubes with high flow cats...

I should be there. I'm told I'll have the car back tomorrow. Everything is basically finished, including the exhaust.
