" @chrisisnapping

Hey Chris, i was wondering if you could comment on my proposed detailing schedule and see if i have the right idea:

1)Two-Bucket Hand Wash (using CG's Citrus Wash to remove everything, including wax)
2)Use the 7424xp with orange cutting pad/swirl remover to get rid of swirls
3)Use 7424xp with white finishing pad and a glaze
4)Use 7424xp with a sealent or wax and a waxing pad OR hand-wax the car with one of my paste wax/microfiber towels

This is just for the paintwork, fyi. "

" Just bought myself the Porter Cable 7424xp in a kit that included:
1 CCS Orange Light Cutting 5.5 inch Foam Pad
This light cutting pad is designed for the removal of mild to moderate swirls and scratches and light oxidation. This is a dense, closed cell foam that effectively levels the edges of scratches until they become flush with the surrounding paint. The orange light cutting foam pad is the most popular pads for the Porter Cable 7424XP and it works on the most common paint imperfections.

1 CCS White Polishing 5.5 inch Foam Pad
Less dense foam formula for the application of waxes, micro-fine polishes and sealants. This pad has very light cutting power so its perfect for pre-wax cleaners.

1 CCS Gray Finishing 5.5 inch Foam Pad
Composition is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls. It has no cut and will apply thin, even coats of waxes, sealants, and glazes. "

" I have another question:

If i was to buy a random orbital buffer for less than $150, which one would i chose? Also, how do i know what pads/polishes to use and where to buy them?

@JR M3 and @chrisisnapping i owe you my life! Ive come to the conclusion that Chemical Guys and Detailers Domain are great places to buy stuff, and you have given me tons of recommendations that i will sift through and use to purchase new chemicals. I owe you guys! +rep!

I recently went out to Advance Auto Parts and bought myself another set of 12 microfiber towels. I now have like 20+, but it nevers seems to be enough! "

" Hey guys,

Most of you are already out of college/currently in college, but i just wanted to post this to make sure youve seen it. Its pretty legit. Its this guy (arya toufanian) who goes to the top party schools/college events and makes wicked videos showing what goes on and what its actually like to go to these schools. They have a ton of colleges currently, but ill just post a few.

Ill post up the video from my top college choice (which im applying for in the next 6 months. yikes!):
This one doesnt really get going until about a minute into the video, so skip to 1:00 or wait through the less-than-awesome beginning...

" Hey BB,

Totally testing the waters here, but im really starting to get bored of my 335i....

So,
for around $30k, what fun/sports car would you buy? Mileage has to be under 60k and it can not be too un-DD-able (example: stripped interior turbo S2K wont work), and i cant buy a bike (which is my absolute top choice, but for family reasons, its a no go....)

Some cars ive considered:
-Mustang GT
-Corvette (Base model or GS if i can find it) "

Im starting to run out of the meguiar's stuff i have been using and am looking at buying some chemicals/soaps/detailing equipment. I want to support someone on the forums, and am not sure who sells detailing products/equipment.

So, detailing vendors, chime in and let me see what you got! Im looking for:

-washing soap
-buffer/buffer pads
-wax
-interior dress-up chemicals
-black plastic chemical (the stuff that makes black plastic 'blacker') "

Eric335 created the thread Tightening the suspension....
" Hello BB,

For the last couple months, ive felt like my car is driving very 'slack' and 'loose' and 'sloppy'. While i have a set of coilovers on my wishlist (probably BCs), i wanted to know what are some things that i should either replace or upgrade in order to tighten up/repair/improve the suspension, chassis, and the 'feel of the car'.

Im not entirely sure what bushings or other things i should be checking to see if they are busted, either. Im a super noob when it comes to non-coilover suspension bits. I have a feeling that simply replacing/repairing certain parts of my suspension/chassis would help the ride feel as it is now. Should i be replacing any bushings or similar items at 40k miles? The only maintenance ive done is oil every 4k miles, air filter, oil filter, tires. Thats it (besides what the previous owner/CPO center did. I got it at 33k miles).

So, let me know what you think! I just know my buddies M3 feels 1,000x more planted/stiff/connected, and thats on the M3s stock suspension ( i know, apples to oranges, but you get the idea).

-E "
