The eprom would be saved on the laptop and a connector would be plugged into the ecu or soldered on in many cases.
It would also make identifying maps much easier. This worked well up to the 29F800 range of eproms and then the ECU's just got faster in a big hurry and rendered the technology from EVC obsolete.
There was a period after this that was the dark ages because you would need to solder the eprom on and off each time a change needed to be made and around 2000 things went to the flash via OBD route.
^^ This. It's the reason a TunerPro RT (Real time) exists. It actually shows you the cells currently active too. It's awesome.

Aaaand not going to happen for us most likely. But we can dream. "

Yes. Lifetime oil is not a reality no matter what BMW says. "

You want to race on public roads? I don't do that and I'm not risking getting my car impounded or jail time because some people on the internet are butthurt.

Either arrange a strip rental or forget the whole idea. "

I was looking to see where the supercharger kit could be purchased.... ESSTUNING.com

However, I was also wondering what the status of the OP`s project is?
Did the boost get added?

Thanx for the reply tho, even on a revived thread!

" +1 evoms tune ...so get those 72lb injectors and crank it up ! k24/18g will get you near 600whp with a good tune!it been well documented

[QUOTE=Group.america;562077]Got my Eurodyne flash and my original ECU tune back....

New flash is better, but still fueling issues and timing pull...... drivs so much btetr in 1st and 2nd gears... holds boost at 1.2 bar or thereabouts

The GREAT news is Eurodyne can send a flash for things like EVOMS 700 hp tune etc.... really cool

I will dyno tomorrow and then adjust as need be... MY dyno guess is 430 awhp and 460 aw lbs-ft 550/560 crank "

" No, dyno, can't see the point of a dyno, if the software for European cars don't allow me to adjust fueling timing or VE tables. I have to live with the tune they write for me. I do think the max boost pressure gives some clue, the power band smoothness is differently noticable. "

" The biggest time save I've seen that option have is on older cars where you were constantly "blindly" upping the fuel. As easy and few things that need adjusted on the N54's you not making as many quick changes. But I would still love to see that plus NLS, launch control, better traction control, on the fly map switching, boost targeting and complete rear o2 disabling but I don't see them ever getting to it.
