In late October we took delivery of our 2014 E63 AMG 4Matic. After some break in miles we headed for Byron dragway to get some baseline numbers. Our completely stock, full weight 2014 E63 ran a best of 11.98 @ 118.56 MPH, not bad at all for a non S model! With stock performance figures collected it’s time to dig in and explore the potential of the 4Matic AMG line. Performance upgrades such as the Alpha Boost Cooler (intercooler upgrade), TOPS (turbine outlet pipes) and Carbon Induction system will be available soon for all M157 5.5 bi-turbo equipped AMG’s, both 4Matic and RWD. ...Published on 09-09-2013 10:00 PM

The AMS Alpha 9 package for the M157 (63 AMG bi-turbo) motors is now officially available. This package has shown a 1/4 mile time of 10.7 @ 135.78 miles per hour in the 1/4 mile as well as a dyno of 787 wheel horsepower although this power figure was achieved in testing and was dialed back for street driving and the 1/4 mile run. The package retails for $11,995.95 not including labor of course. Additionally, the 60-130 drops to 6.58 seconds for an E63 AMG which puts the sedan ahead of cars like the Ferrari Enzo and Porsche Carrera GT in acceleration. More details from AMS below. ...Published on 06-25-2013 04:26 PM
Great video here courtesy of AMS Performance showing their Alpha 9 M157 V8 bi-turbo package in action. Keep in mind this is not with the 787 wheel horsepower max output AMS has shown so far but dialed back a bit as the package is still being tested (10.7@135 1/4 mile achieved) and tested in the real world against stout competition like this modified ZR1. What modifications are on the ZR1 are not listed in the video but one would assume mild bolt ons. Regardless, the ZR1 is some stout competition and the Alpha 9 E63 shows quite impressively. ...
