Renntech has released their add-on spoiler for the R230 Mercedes SL. The image shown here is of the prototype, the finished product will be a Pre-Preg carbon fiber piece. Renntech states that Pre-Preg is the highest quality carbon fiber production process. We do not know if this is true or not but do not doubt them. This spoiler will fit all R230 SL's from 2003-2011 and production starts in 6 weeks. ...

Here we have a great video comparison of a stock C63 and a stock P31 C63 running each other. Both cars are 100% stock on 91 pump gas. Later on in the video, the stock C63 runs a tune by OE Tuning which the outcome has both cars equal. This goes to show that a P31 car is as fast a standard C63 with tune making for an impressive factory package. ...

Carlsson has taken an SL65 AMG and modified it extensively. The main difference here is the carbon roof which lightens the car tremendously by ditching the folding hard top and associated motors. Carlsson says this is going to be an extremely rare vehicle with only one sold per country which is kind of odd. Yes, it's nice, but it still is just a modified SL. Only 25 will be produced so looks like only 25 countries are getting these. At 430,000 Euros a pop that is probably a good thing. ...

Mansory kits are usually pretty overdone and pretty overpriced but we can live with this one. The reason being that it is functional and the function it serves is to lower the weight of the car by almost 200 pounds. The carbon pieces don't just stop at the exterior with the engine bay and the interior also getting the carbon treatment. How much for the kit, wheels, and interior? Pricing has not been announced, which is a good thing as we don't want to cry about not being able to afford it. ...

Brabus has once again pulled off what few others, if anyone else, could. They unveilved a twin turbo SLS they built at Geneva. This is not a motor swap but a twin turbo setup on the M156 V8 with compression dropped down to 9.0:1 with forged pistons/internals. Custom manifolds feed two turbos they somehow got to fit neatly. Torque is raised up to 626 pound-feet which is far beyond the torque limits in the factory transmission. This does use the DCT transmission so how they did this is beyond us as our tuners tell us no one has been able to exceed these limits. It seems Brabus has made the impossible, possible. ...

This is the type of thing Brabus does best. Do an awesome motor swap and make it look like it was from the factory. The 800 Widestar is the newest Brabus G and the most powerful Mercedes SUV they have built. Yes, 800 is for 800 horsepower. This improves upon the previous ~700 horsepower in their V12 S G-wagon. Displacement of the V12 twin turbo taken from the S600 is increased from 5.5 liters to 6.3 with a custom crank and internals. The heads are also worked over to improve flow. ...

The guys over at Carscoop rendered the upcoming black series C coupe. We like what they did with the aggressive fenders which are a hallmark of the black series models but the front just does not seem aggressive enough. They also believe the coupe will get the naturally aspirated M156 V8 with 457 horsepower just like the sedan. We have our fingers crossed it gets the 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 to blow the competition very, very far away. ...

Congratulations to OE Tuning! The OE Tuning C63 set record times today at the Sacremento Drag strip. With only a tune and full exhaust including headers on pump gas (with drag radials) the car ran 11.15@125 with a 1.763 60 foot. A 60-130 time was run as well which is a new record time for the Stage 2 OE Tuning car at 8.19. Simply fantastic results and 10's are within reach with a better 60 foot. This setup is exactly how the car is driven daily, without the Nitto NT555R drag radials of course. ...

Here is the new Hamann "Hawk" package for the SLS that combines Evorose Gold paint with carbon fiber body accents. Notable changes are the front bumper with larger air inlets and integrated LED's as well as the rear diffuser. Don't forget the wing which is pretty hard to miss. The car gets an ECU tune along with a full exhaust bumping power to about 636 horsepower. The interior gets attention as well with race seats and suede. Hamann 21 inch wheels and 30 mm lower coil-overs round it out. The official debut is Tuesday at Geneva, expect more details and pictures then. ...

Here is the 675,000 euro Xenatec Maybach Coupe which is being officially presented at Geneva. They build it based on a regular Maybach 57s which they modify to turn into a coupe. Maybach approves of the project and has been pleased with the final result by all accounts. These are all hand built to customer specifications obviously, so you can get whatever changes or options you desire for your just under a million coupe. ...

BenzBoost user DDGT3RD did some comparison VBOX runs with the OE Tuning C63. DDGT3RD has a stock P31 C63 AMG. The OE Tuning car is a tuned standard C63 AMG with the OE Tuning tune along with a full exhaust including headers from Gintani. The P31 car did 60-130 in 9.87 seconds which is quite impressive. Sub 10 stock puts it in some elite company and ahead of cars like the Ferrari F430. The OE Tuning C63 did 8.58 on 91 pump gas. Impressive? Yes, check out the graphs. ...

This is definitely something different. Renntech revealed their hybrid rally car which is based on the GLK chassis. Renntech is attempting to show that they can do, "performance without compromise." The car is going on a US tour schedule after which it will retire to the Mercedes-Benz Collection museum. Kind of makes us ask what the point is? Shouldn't this car be competing in Pikes Peak or is the name just for fun? ...

Here is the Fab Design Mercedes SLS widebody. There are times where less is more and well, this is that time. These were taken in the Dubai (no surprise) showroom. We don't really know what to say, it looks bulky and tacky but apparently this stuff sells... in Dubai. ...

National Geographic has an interesting video on the construction of the SLS and just what goes into it. It is a very, very high tech build. If you weren't impressed by the SLS before you may be impressed by just how much effort it takes to produce one. The aluminum chassis build itself is just amazing and the paint process and detail that goes into takes 30 hours alone. Check out the video. ...

PAW Motorsport was nice enough to send us these pictures of a C74 that stopped by. No, it is not a 7.4 liter. The 74 refers to the 74 inch rear track width. The pieces are all carbon fiber and they better be for the retail of $15,450. We don't even find that pricing to be that bad in comparison to the ridiculous price Vorsteiner charges for their E92 M3 widebody kit. Enjoy the pictures! ...
