Michigan based Borg Warner has acquired Haldex Traction Systems who is a leader in all wheel drive applications. Haldex Traction Systems is one division of Haldex but the most well known for producing the all wheel drive systems for the A3, S3, and Audi TT. It is interesting to note that the Audi Q7 uses a Borg Warner 4WD system so it appears Borg Warner wishes to expand their AWD offerings especially to the Audi group. The deal was completed for $205 million dollars. ...

Kia managed to finish in second with Kinetic Motorsports doing a great job with their Kia Forte. Bimmerworld rounded out the top 3 in their 328i. We will be following what develops in the Continental Series closely, results below. ...

Well, the numbers aren't all that impressive and actually pretty slow. But hey, this is an SUV after all, and a heavy one at that. The Q7 weighs about the same as an X5 at 5,256 pounds yet it puts up much worse numbers than the N55 equipped X5. It also only pulls .81 on the skidpad due to its high center of gravity. The V8 is also now gone. What you say? Yes, the 3.6 v6 and the 4.2 V8 are both gone and the 3.0tsi supercharged 6 cylinder is actually quicker by a couple tenths than the V8 it replaces. For whatever reason, the Q7 has a detuned version of the 3.0tsi putting out 272 horsepower vs. the Audi S4's 333. The S-line version has the full 333 ponies on tap but the Q7 does not seem be much of a sporty SUV to begin with. ...

German Tuner Sport Wheels has modified the R8 V10 spyder and we like the result. They start with an engine tune which they claim bumps the power up to 600 hp. From there they modify the grille, add a lip, lower it, and change to their wheels. It is not lowered just on springs, but they offer a KW coil-over setup for about 7,400 euro. A center exit exhaust is used for a distinct look which works well. Oh, and yes, those are ceramic brakes from Mov-it that retail for about 22,000 euros. Expensive, but oh so sexy! ...

Japanese modding is not really low key to begin with. Artis took a C6 A6 and applied a diamond patterned film over an Audi A6 and then painted on top of it with an extremely shiny black finish. There is more to the car than just the paint being lowered with a body kit. However, the paint work is what stands out and clearly was designed to do that. Well then, mission accomplished. ...

Here we have a comparison of Tial 605/770, GT 2871, and K04 turbo B5 S4 setups all compared on the same dyno. These were done same day, same place, and show a nice overview of the potential of the various turbo choices for the B5 S4. ...

We know a new RS6 is coming. We know rumors are that the V10 will be ditched in favor of a smaller displacement V8 twin-turbo (giant mistake in our opinion). The horsepower is likely going to be around the 600 horsepower mark and we have no idea if it will come to the United States but here are some rendering of what it may look like. ...

The Audi A1 can now be ordered with a 1.4 TFSI motor putting out about 185 horsepower and 184 lb-ft. What is interesting about this motor is that it is both turbocharged and supercharged. The supercharger is active from low revs up until 2,400 rpm at which point a turbo takes over past 3500 rpm until redline. This allows a larger turbo used for efficiency reasons up top that does not have to be concerned with low rpm spool, witchcraft is clearly at work. We wait for some tuner to figure out how to prevent the supercharger from disengaging as well as getting the turbo to kick in earlier for a real kick in the pants. ...

The compact SUV segment is heating up. The Audi Q3 is officially coming late this year with a 2.0T FSI motor. The car will be available in automatic and manual. No telling if it will make it to the United States although with the American public's obsession with SUV's it is a very good bet. No official photos exist yet as the car has not been revealed yet but if it looks like this rendering bring it on. Expect the official unveiling at the Frankfurt Autoshow in September. ...

UK design house Project Kahn has created a widebody package for the Audi Q7. It obviously consists of wide fenders (duh) as well as modified front and rear bumpers along with the side skirts. The wheels are Kahn designed as well. The interior gets attention with a bunch of badges and lcd screens which are not pictured. Overall, it's different, but it is more for people into "bling" and getting attention over substance. ...

The Germany Magazine AutoBild has compared the TT-RS to the Audi RS5. We are a bit surprised with the results as they show the TT-RS as blazing fast running through 402 meters which is a 1/4 mile in 12.2 seconds. That, is very, very fast and faster than the RS5 which has more power although is much heavier. Both cars use DSG transmissions which may account for the great times. Still, the TT-RS does 0-100 mph in under 10 seconds which makes it quite quick as well as out accelerating the RS5 in every test. We must say we are very, very impressed and hope these numbers can be replicated. ...
