MTM has built a new twin turbo R8 package. They manage to get 777 horsepower out of the V10. The motor is build and displacement is reduced from 5.2 liter to 4.9 likely to reinforce the block with material. Impressive? Maybe, if the entire package did not go for around 400,000 euro and US tuners were not getting far more power for far less money. Top speed is claimed to be around 217 miles per hour. Just so everyone notices you going fast the car has been decked out in a chrome finish. To be honest, we feel the Underground Racing and Heffner twin turbo R8's are much better options but nice to see another turbo R8. ...

We just got a hold of these new renderings of the Audi S6. The renderings are so well done we weren't sure if we were looking at the real thing or not at first. We know the Audi S6 is coming and know it will have the singe turbo 4.0 liter V8 with 408 horsepower as the Russian leak we reported on earlier stated. The only we do don't know thus far is what it will look like but we would not surprised if it turned up looking exactly like these renderings. ...

Various sites are reporting that during a technology presentation at the Audi plant in Neckersulm, Germany that some of the senior Audi officials teased an upcoming R8 that will feature lightweight components. Audi would not allow any cameras into the presentation so the photos you see here are what Audi gave the journalists. The white R8 you see is believed to be the project NF prototype. ...

IBherdesign has released their widebody kit for the Q7. The Portuguese tuner calls this the "Czar Wide" kit. You can see it here in a matte black finish with the pieces painted. The unpainted pieces show exactly what is changed. That is the front and rear fenders, side skirts, rear spoiler, front bumper, and the rear bumper. 22 inch wheels are added to fill the new arches. Overall, we like it and the kit is well executed. ...

APR has released their SC kit for the Audi S5. The price is $13k which is about in the range of what SC kits are going for these for high compression V8 Euro sport sedans. The gains are pretty good with a jump of 142 horsepower at all 4 wheels for a total of 418 wheel vs. the stock 276. Considering E92 M3's can get just under 400 whp with bolt on's and 600 whp with an SC, this definitely makes the S5 stronger but it certainly isn't too strong of a performance platform. Still, great to see an option for the S5 4.2 FSI V8 guys. ...

My friend and I got a chance to do a few pulls during a meet last weekend.. Both cars have exhaust valves. We did several pulls, 2 of which I got on video clearly. Each time were about dead even, nobody really gained. This is a bit of a shock to the Audi community as well as myself. However, the numbers behind each car don't exactly put the S5 ahead by much at all. ...

We thought this was pretty cool and hope it pushes Audi to make the Quattro Concept. AutoCar got to spend some time with this special A5. How is it different? It is built off a custom aluminum chassis with aluminum body pieces and a CFRP hood and trunk. It weighs only 3,000 pounds about 700 pounds less than the standard V6 A5. The TT-RS motor is tweaked to put out 400 horsepower. This car is intended to show what the Quattro Concept would drive like if it were to be produced and AutoCar states it is the best handling Audi they have ever it driven... it just might convince the board to give the green light. ...

These RS A5 rumors don't want to settle down which is fine with us. Last week we showed you a rendering of the front of the RS Q5. This time we get the back of it done by Acerbus. Is it going to come? We don't know, but the rumors of a 408 hp supercharged RS Q5 based on the 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 continue. ...

This is one of the Autocar quick 90 second review which definitely keep up with our attention spans. Some quick notes, they state the steering is a bit vague. Additionally, they seem to believe one should go with the traditional steel spring suspension setup over the air suspension option and would agree with this especially for enthusiasts who might want to add an aftermarket coil-over later. We do disagree that one should opt for the diesel, the 3.0 TFSI is our choice especially with its ability to be tuned. ...

This is the type of thing we like to see. APR has posted their own graphs but they tend to do them in crank horsepower which is, well, pretty annoying. A customer took his car for before and after dyno pulls on a Mustang and went from 297 awhp to 361 awhp with tune only. Impressive? Yes. The car in question is a 2011 Audi S4 with a custom Milltek exhaust and the APR 93 octane tune. ...

Top Gear is entertainment above all but sometimes they do some good comparisons. Here we have a video where they take the competition package M3 vs. the new Audi RS5. Audi has had plenty of time to work on the RS5 but it still is not able to top the M3. What really opens eyes is the fact the Top Gear test track is wet and the M3 still outlaps the RS5. That is very surprising but no surprise the hefty RS5 routing its power to all 4 wheels does not make as efficient use of its power as the M3 which out handles and out accelerates it. Sorry Audi, the M3 is still the king. ...

Audi has released concept sketches of their A3 sedan. The car is set to be unveiled at the Geneva car show as a concept. The fascia is modified from the standard A3 with a more aggressive and updated design. It is also longer than the A3 hatch by about half a foot. We should have more details in two weeks but what is really interesting is the suggestion of a modified TT-RS 2.5 liter inline 5 turbo with about 400 horses. We hope it makes it to production. ...

This is Brian Henderson's very, very low V8 A4 avant. The car is lowered on an accuair air suspension which allows him to get very aggressive with the stance. The wheels are from rotiform and contrast with the dark bodywork. This car has been all over the web and is certainly opening eyes. We like it as it is different and believe he pulled it off well. What do you think? Check out the very high quality video. ...

The Q3 will debut next month at Geneva. AutoExpress got their hands on some spyshots and also has a rendering. The car will be based on the VQ tiguan platform and will offer a 2.0t under the hood. A 2.0 liter diesel will be available in Europe but we do not know if it will make it to the United States. ...

In South America, South Africa, and parts of Europe, this is apparently a very popular option. It features a 6.3 liter W12 motor with 500 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. 0-60 is only 7.3 seconds though considering the major heft. The windows are all specially made to be able to resist whatever is thrown at them and they alone add almost 700 pounds of weight to the car. A standard A8L W12 weighs almost 4600 pounds so this thing is definitely up there. ...

The new Audi A6 has received an all LED headlight option. It joins other cars in the Audi lineup like hte A7, R8, and new A8 with all LED headlights. The light system is adjustable based on conditions. The control unit uses a small video camera that is situated in the rear view mirror along with data from the navigation system to anticipate changes in ambient lighting. This means cornering lights can be adjusted before the car reaches a corner or adjust based on oncoming traffic. Pretty sophisticated, and they looks great. ...
