Another leak from the VW/AUDI ETKA software has revealed a new Q3 model as well as its horsepower figures. The screenshot below clearly shows a Q3 2.5 with 310 horsepower. What will this model be called? A Q3 S perhaps? SQ3? We first reported on this back in June and are happy to confirm it with horsepower figures. Now the only question is how do we convince Audi to bring it to the USA? ...Published on 11-21-2011 01:36 AM
The R8 LMS Ultra is the successor to the R8 LMS GT3. The GT3 has won 115 races so it is not exactly an easy act to follow. The Ultra features CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) doors for weight savings. The exhaust system for the 5.2 V10 has been revised for more power. The oil cooler has been relocated and improved upon. The chassis was slightly reworked to fit larger and wider wheels. In addition to all this the aerodynamics have been changed to increase downforce. ...Published on 11-20-2011 01:09 AM
Here is the 4 door version of the Audi A1 we are sure you have all been waiting for. Yes, that was sarcasm as we do not pay much attention to the A1 in general as Audi decided the USA should not get it. It is Audi news however and since this is a new model it is our duty to bring it to you. So, here you are, dream about the 4 door A1 you can not have. That's a joke, we really aren't going to miss not having this. The RS6 on the other hand... ...Published on 11-18-2011 09:26 PM
Here are our Audi pictures from the La Auto Show. The main interest in the Audi are was the new S6, S7, and S8. These cars get twin turbo V8's that should offer up significant competition to BMW and Mercedes. In addition Audi had a nice electric concept, the R8 GT, and the TT-RS on display. They also had some of the best looking and friendliest models at the show which was a nice little plus.

This is the first we have heard of TC Concepts which is based in Berlin. This body kit for the R8 which is limited to just 25 sets should get them some attention. It consists of a new front bumper, side skirts, mirror covers, rear fenders with intakes and flared arches, and a wing. The rear fenders and intake eliminate the sideblades which we feel really improves the look and makes the coupe look more akin to the convertible. The parts all use OEM mounting points which is impressive. The kit is available in either FRP or carbon fiber with pricing of 9,800 euros and 16,800 euros respectively.

We are waiting on more details as just this video was posted through a tweet which came from APR. We are guessing (but may be wrong) this is the same car that previously ran firstname.lastname@example.org. email@example.com would be a considerable improvement and this vehicle obviously has APR mods on the car. The vehicle also belongs to a user named "Primetime." We will post more details as soon as we get them, for now just enjoy the video and the new record.

Audi does some pretty funny and overall interesting commercials. Audi USA pulled off a great one here for the new A6 where they flip the typical script. Normally it is the kids trying to take the parents car for a joyride. This time around, it is the parents taking their son's new Audi A6 for a spin without his permission. Check out the video of the commercial below, nicely done Audi.

Fifth Gear videos are a lot of fun to watch and this one is no exception. Tiff really likes the C63 and states it is much, much more fun to drive. You can tell as he drifts it just about everywhere he goes on the track saying it provides more driver satisfaction. The C63 hits a higher top speed on the track by 4 MPH but is beat around the track by 1.7 seconds by the Audi RS5. The track is damp and this is mentioned in the video which is a real disadvantage to the high powered and RWD C63. British reviews become pretty much pointless when they compare an all wheel drive car to a RWD car on a wet track. In the dry, we would expect this to be much closer with the edge likely going to the C63.

Well, SEMA 2011 is over with for us. We have tons of photos and will be splitting our BMW, Audi, Porsche, and Mercedes coverage up along with some bonus coverage. The show overall was great and seemed busier than last year. The photo equipment from last year is much improved but some photos are dark due to mistakes choosing the correct settings on the camera and flash. We promise to improve, enjoy the photos and commentary.

Everyone keeps talking about the great Chinese economy. Well, it has not been so great for Audi in the past couple of years as 25% of their market share has eroded. Why? BMW and Mercedes are expanding and taking what was once Audi's momentum with them. Mercedes is up from 16% in 2009 to 22% in 2011. BMW is up to 25% from 21% in a similar window. The managing director of China Market Research Group can explain this a bit better, “Audi is seen as being a bit old-fashioned because of its association as being a government car. Wealthy consumers today want something sexier, more indulgent, which is why BMW and Mercedes have done well. Ten years ago, everyone wanted to be in government as that was seen as the ticket to wealth. Today, the new wealthy consumer doesn’t want to be associated with officialdom.”

Audi has not announced an RS4 sedan for the B8 generation A4. That does not stop any of us from speculating however and theophiluschin decided to render what such a video would look like. This rendering comes surprisingly quickly on the heels of the facelifted B8 A4 pictures hitting the web. The rendering basically takes RS5 styling cues and applies them to the A4 which really is not all that different from what Audi did with the facelifted A4 anyway having used styling cues from the facelifted A5. Will we see an RS4 sedan this generation? Seems unlikely at this pint.

Audi is making rapid styling changes, seemingly almost too fast. The B8 A4 still seems fresh to us and did not really need a facelift in our opinion. Well, Audi decided to freshen it up for whatever reason and the styling mimics what they did on the facelifted RS5. The headlights are basically the same and unfortunately that makes the models blend together. The new headlights work much better on the A5 than on the A4. The facelifted A4 will be on sale June of next year in the USA as a 2013 model with a wagon available as well.

If you read other sites (it's ok, we don't blame you, we do too) the major Audi news going around is that Audi is developing a new lighter and more powerful TT-RS. Well, we brought you news of this car back in March of this year. You may have realized the TT-RS for the USA had a slight horsepower bump versus its European counterpart. The leak from earlier in the year shows that the European version will be bumped up to the horsepower levels of the USA version from its current 335 BHP level.

We would like to thank our premier vendor IND for these great photos from their http://ind-style.com blog. This is a full titanium exhaust system for the V10 Audi R8. Titanium is strong as well as lightweight which is why this exhaust system shaves 35 pounds from a key area of the car. The exhaust is valved which means you can start your R8 without waking up the entire city. An in cabin wireless valve system is optional which means one can go from subdued to racecar loud at the touch of a button. Awesome? You bet, and it also gives you 14 horsepower. Contact @IND-Distribution if interested.

We prefer Fifth Gear videos to all other British automotive reviews. They use real drivers, with real racing experience, who evaluate the cars as enthusiasts would expect instead of trying to entertain you with crazy stunts. It is very cool to see Tiff Needell and British rally driver Mark Higgins throwing these two cars around a road course. What is interesting is that they both come to the same conclusion, the BMW 1M is the better driver's car. The BMW 1M continues to crush the RS3 around the track as the laptimes show, no surprise.
