Many automotive sites are reporting that Audi is receiving criticism for their styling starting to look the same. Frankly, AudiBoost believes it is unjustified. Audi has some of the best and most progressive styling out there. Their designs seem to be the most modern out of all the German brands. BMW used to be in this pitfall pre-Bangle and the transition was awkward. The B6 S4 with the 4.2 V8 is a great car but has never been really considered a powerhouse. Due the drivetrain losses from the all wheel drive the dyno numbers at the wheels are somewhat low for the class leading owners to seek more power. OE Tuning recently dyno tuned a B6 S4 with a Fast Intentions exhaust getting some impressive gains. The max baseline was 253 horsepower and 235 torque to the wheels and the peak values after the tune were 269 horsepower and 265 torque with a gain of 23 wheel horsepower at 7200 rpm. Congratulations to Audi. The German publication Auto Bild named the R8 GT the 2011 sports car of the year and the award was accepted in person by Audi at the Essen show. The R8 GT is an absolutely special automobile but is it truly the best sports car of the year? Debatable, but not really a surprise to see the Germans pick a German. AWE Tuning has released their FMIC (front mount intercooler) for the 2.0 TFSI powered Audi Q5. The FMIC features full aluminum construction and fits behind the factory crash bar. It is also designed to reuse the OEM hoses and clamps. AWE Tuning claims they were able to reduce temps with their FMIC vs. the stock intercooler by 31 degrees Fahrenheit. Mansory has a tendency of overdoing it when it comes to body kits. This package for the R8 Spyder definitely borders on being a bit too much but is more restrained than most of Mansory's products. Basically, Mansory just added a bunch of carbon fiber to the car. A carbon lip, carbon hood, carbon sideskirt add-on, carbon sideblade, carbon diffuser, carbon wing, and carbon interior pieces. Insideline recently tested in the new 991 Carrera S and has now decided to pit it against the R8 in a comparison. The R8 4.2 V8 is not a slow car by any means. The problem though is that this is 2011 where a Porsche 911 with a 3.8 liter 6 cylinder eats it alive. Kind of embarrassing in a way for the more expensive R8 with a larger V8 motor that revs higher to be easily beaten by the Porsche 991 Carrera S that traps 4 mph higher. What is going on? This is now the second major driver BMW has managed to somehow steal for the upcoming 2012 DTM season. First it was Mercedes driver Burno Spengler and now it is the 2011 DTM champion Audi driver Martin Tomczyk. It would seem that BMW is not messing around and intends to have the best car as well as the best drivers for next year. It is going to be a very interesting season.

The B8 S4 continues to evolve and the 1/4 mile times continue to drop. Just a little over a week ago we reported the first 11 second B8 S4. That run was an firstname.lastname@example.org and this was improved to 11.7. The trap speed was only 116 but this same car also hit 118 setting a new fastest time in the process as well. Another leak from the VW/AUDI ETKA software has revealed a new Q3 model as well as its horsepower figures. The screenshot below clearly shows a Q3 2.5 with 310 horsepower. What will this model be called? A Q3 S perhaps? SQ3? We first reported on this back in June and are happy to confirm it with horsepower figures. The R8 LMS Ultra is the successor to the R8 LMS GT3. The GT3 has won 115 races so it is not exactly an easy act to follow. The Ultra features CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) doors for weight savings. The exhaust system for the 5.2 V10 has been revised for more power. The oil cooler has been relocated and improved upon. The chassis was slightly reworked to fit larger and wider wheels. Yes, that was sarcasm as we do not pay much attention to the A1 in general as Audi decided the USA should not get it. It is Audi news however and since this is a new model it is our duty to bring it to you. So, here you are, dream about the 4 door A1 you can not have. Here are our Audi pictures from the La Auto Show. The main interest in the Audi are was the new S6, S7, and S8. These cars get twin turbo V8's that should offer up significant competition to BMW and Mercedes. In addition Audi had a nice electric concept, the R8 GT, and the TT-RS on display. They also had some of the best looking and friendliest models at the show which was a nice little plus.

This is the first we have heard of TC Concepts which is based in Berlin. This body kit for the R8 which is limited to just 25 sets should get them some attention. It consists of a new front bumper, side skirts, mirror covers, rear fenders with intakes and flared arches, and a wing. The rear fenders and intake eliminate the sideblades which we feel really improves the look and makes the coupe look more akin to the convertible. The parts all use OEM mounting points which is impressive. The kit is available in either FRP or carbon fiber with pricing of 9,800 euros and 16,800 euros respectively.

We are waiting on more details as just this video was posted through a tweet which came from APR. We are guessing (but may be wrong) this is the same car that previously ran email@example.com. firstname.lastname@example.org would be a considerable improvement and this vehicle obviously has APR mods on the car. The vehicle also belongs to a user named "Primetime." We will post more details as soon as we get them, for now just enjoy the video and the new record.

Audi does some pretty funny and overall interesting commercials. Audi USA pulled off a great one here for the new A6 where they flip the typical script. Normally it is the kids trying to take the parents car for a joyride. This time around, it is the parents taking their son's new Audi A6 for a spin without his permission. Check out the video of the commercial below, nicely done Audi.

Fifth Gear videos are a lot of fun to watch and this one is no exception. Tiff really likes the C63 and states it is much, much more fun to drive. You can tell as he drifts it just about everywhere he goes on the track saying it provides more driver satisfaction. The C63 hits a higher top speed on the track by 4 MPH but is beat around the track by 1.7 seconds by the Audi RS5. The track is damp and this is mentioned in the video which is a real disadvantage to the high powered and RWD C63. British reviews become pretty much pointless when they compare an all wheel drive car to a RWD car on a wet track. In the dry, we would expect this to be much closer with the edge likely going to the C63.
