• New C63 AMG and M156 V8 1/4 mile record - 10.87@131! Congratulations to MHP and Dodger63

      A new 1/4 mile record for quickest and fastest C63 and overall 63 amg was set at the MIR dragstrip by dodger63. This is an absolutely phenomenal time and an incredible achievement especially when one factors in this was done all on the motor, no nitrous or other power adder. The modifications are as follow: MHP tuning V3 CDT, MHP long tube headers , modified airbox, and drag radials along with race gas. Congratulations once again to MHP and dodger63 for a stunning new record and raising the bar!

        I met the guy and he was very nice to me and I like him but that is very odd.

        Nobody else has ran 10's NA from what I have seen. He has said he has run 10's right? But he claimed to run them NA? From what I saw he was running 11 flat with nitrous.

        Yes that's exactly true. Honestly I think he's a good guy but someone has his ear (CA tuner) and more than likely told him to state those numbers thinking they weren't attainable, oops. I was told there were crystal clear vids from 2 cameras running during all his 10 back to back 10.80 @135 N/A passes and 10.60@138 NOS passes. Other questionable remarks include him running a SLS top end but now plans to go back to stock for the weistec supercharger.

        Just makes no sense at all.

        Loco has posted some of them, however he said Mike's wouldn't load? Just going off of what was posted. I think he's going to try again tonight. Trust me I want to see them as well.

        I'll be going to MIR on 2/18/11 for the next rental (as will dodger) and will get solid HD vids then either way.

        Well if someone is claiming 10's that is a bold claim and should at least be accompanied by a slip/vid or be dismissed.

        As of right now, it would seem there is only 1 verified M156 in the 10's, and that is dodger63.

        Agreed, we did have Keith run the nitrous pass but that's another story and I don't think either of us (Keith or I) stand behind that as representative of what these cars can truly do on nitrous.

        keiths 60-130 with 125 shot did it in 6.66 sec and that day he ran 10.9xx with same set up.
        mikes 60-130 was 8.2 when he ran his 10.875 that 6.66 and 8.2 is a whole lot of diff dont you guys think.

        if mikes was running nos his 60-130 would have been in the 7's EASY.

        and if he was running nos his car would of not made it to 10 passes.

        Sorry, but you guys have to keep in mind this whole site is not as familiar with the Mercedes guys yet.

        So please use screennames as well just to get a familiarity with the names. Not necessary, but helps those who are not familiar.

        Additional clarification is needed here. Keith's converter (and likely his trans) were slipping by the time we made it to the track with NOS. In all I think he made 11 (?) passes with NOS including stock and rebuilt trannys. Point being he didn't even get a chance to get his progressive controller dialed in before the driveline took a dump, it was nowhere near optimal. Therefore we don't consider Keith's (I know he agrees with me) present nitrous best to be representative of what that combo was truly capable of. After the cam software is wrapped he may spray a small shot (50 or so) but nothing like before. I believe he only wants to use it in the standing mile to break 200, which is his next goal.

        We should have the cam software wrapped in the next 2 weeks meaning final numbers from the track, VBox and dyno are coming soon. We expect good things Click here to enlarge

        We only accept ECUs with stock files on them as we don't ever want to be accused of stealing or even looking at others remapping. Best bet is to send back to the tuner to have a stock map put on it. Worst case yes we can reluctantly buy a new stock file for the ECU at an additional $500 cost--we have to buy the stock file from AMG.

        You have to read the encrypted file out then unencrypt it to see what firmware version it is before reflashing with your own remap. BDM encryption sucks unfortunately.

        I see, but it is possible you just have to flash it back to stock.

        Once you find out the firmware version you can flash a base file yes.

        To get the greatest advantage from the cams MHP Tune for the cams would be necessary.

        Sticky is 100% correct. You can try to tune for the cams, but it's no easy feat, matching software is the way to go.
