Well it ended up being 74 degrees but we still had a great day at MIR. DA was +1249' at the time of this pass. 3/4 tank of gas, half 93, half 100 (don't ask lol). Full interior, stock front wheels, borrowed C63 wheels with 18" Nitto DRs and BMC drop ins with our v3 CDT (ECU & TCU Tuning).

Obviously we left a lot in the 60' and the temps didn't help. I think the car will go 10s@130+ as it sits next rental. First time to the track learning the car and there's a lot to learn I will say that 63s can run all day long 40+ passes and not miss a beat, 65s in this weather without cooling upgrades are meat after 1 pass. ...

AutoBild has rendered the upcoming Mercedes CLC. The car will be based on the underpinnings which will serve as the basis for the new A and B class. It will be an entry level 4-door "coupe" and the base model will be front wheel drive. Sound bad? Well, it will also be available in an all wheel drive model. The competition will be the Audi A3 and the upcoming 1 series GT both of which likely also will be FWD models. ...

The system also automatically lowers the car back to normal when it reaches of a speed 50 miles per hour. The coil-overs are 3299 euros (cheaper in the US as VAT is included in the price) and the HLS system is 7499 euros. ...

People behind the scenes have been aware for a few weeks now that a sale of Powerchip was in the process of being completed. We did not report on it as a courtesy but we learned that the sale fell through and now can reveal what took place without having an affect on the outcome. Wayne Besanko attempted to sell Powerchip to an Asian investor he had been in talks with previously. This took place after the fall out from the performance forums debacle in which Powerchip's image took a huge hit and this spread to almost every forum and major blog. ...

Mercedes put up this video showing their engineers parking a car using a cellphone sending commands through twitter. Pretty cool we suppose but it does not seem they have pinpoint precise control. Still, definitely cool, click read more to see the video. Oh, and while we are at it, feel free to follow BenzBoost: www.twitter.com/benzboost ...

Weistec has released updated information on their C63 AMG supercharger kit. At just 5 psi on 91 octane the car puts out 498 horsepower to the wheels. The price has been set at $14,999 for the Stage I and we wonder if they will be able to go beyond these numbers with the transmission limits in place. The supercharger is a 2.3 liter twin screw with a liquid to water intercooler. Custom dyno tuning is included obviously, we look forward to seeing how this develops. ...

Here we go again, for the second time Singh is claiming to be the first to tune a motor without anything to substantiate it. We do know tuners have been working on this motor but Singh claims to be the first in North America to offer an upgrade. To substantiate this they have provided... nothing. No dyno chart as support, no customer impressions, no pricing, just a shot of the engine bay. We saw these claims from Singh previously and they were dismissed as unsubstantiated. We have to do the same here, but know that 600+ hp tunes are coming. ...

Kleemann makes a variety of supercharger setups for Mercedes vehicles. They use a roots blower for their kits which makes for a clean install which you can see as well as a car that is a fun to drive. Our friends at DC Performance did a supercharger install of a used kit on a W209 CLK500 and they did a great job documenting the install. No dynos yet although we intend to ask for them, Kleemann claims 455 horsepower and 433 pound-feed of torque. ...

If you are in the United States you may even be asking yourself what a CLC even is. Basically, it was the entry level C-class hatchback. The newest model was not sold in the United States. It was based on the W203 but it was updated with W204 styling. With the C-class coupe occupying the entry level C class segment Mercedes deemed there was no need to continue with the CLC. Will be miss it? Uh, we already forgot it existed. ...

It never made much sense to us that the C-coupe would be neutered. Thankfully, that is not the case. The C63 AMG coupe will in fact share the C63 AMG sedans 450+ horsepower 6.2 liter M156 V8. This is exactly how it should be and we thank Mercedes for having the balls to go through with it. This also bodes well for the black series version of the C-class coupe to get the twin turbo V8. Well done Mercedes! ...

Gintani is wrapping up development of their C63 AMG exhaust. After the final round of testing the car was flashed back to stock and here we have a dyno of the car from the baseline stock to with the exhaust and tune. Stock the car put down 360 whp and with the exhaust alone on 91 octane the car put out 402.0 whp. A very, very nice gain with exhaust alone. Expect pricing information to come shortly. ...
