Renntech moves the M157 bar yet again with a dyno run of 627 wheel horsepower on 93 octane setting a new M157 record. This comes less than a month after Renntech was the first (and only) tuner to break the 600 wheel horsepower mark on the M157. Renntech now hopes to clear the 700 wheel barrier and the next steps for the M157 are billet turbo upgrades and transmission upgrades. Renntech is aiming to have these ready by the end of the year. Congratulations to Renntech for raising the bar yet again. ...

Mansory body work is not subtle and that is absolutely fine by us as long as the result is good. In this case, the result is definitely good. Obvious changes are the carbon fiber front clip, rear, grill, and hood as well as the widened fenders. Where we feel the kit goes a bit too far is the LED lights in the front bumper and the rear exhaust with the odd rectangular tips. However one feels about the tips and LED's, this certainly is an aggressive body package for the new CLS. ...

We all love cars. For some of us that love came for different reasons. However, many of us had our fathers influence in this respect. Why not keep that tradition going and pass the car gene down with the new SLS Little Edition and have your kid be the king of playground? It's a push along with four wheels and is a very well done mini-recreation. And admit it, if you weren't too big to ride one you would want it too. Get it from Mercedes-Benz for $127. ...

You all knew the GL63 AMG was coming as we posted spy photos of it testing as early as May of last year. Well, the final design was leaked early by spy photographers at Autoevolution and it looks absolutely great. The design is very similar to the new ML63 AMG although the grill on the GL63 AMG looks better. There is unfortunately no clear shot of the rear as the car was covered up in an attempt to prevent a leak... oops. ...

Brabus seems to be able to swap the M275 V12 into just about anything. Case and point, a new W204 C-Class coupe received a bored and stroked M275 up to 6.3 liters of displacement. Horsepower is stated to be at 800 and torque at a staggering 1,047 pound-feet which we do not doubt. The car and idea is absolutely awesome but at a price in the half a million dollar range (449,820 Euros) we do not know who is going to buy this or why. Hopefully a US tuner can do this swap for a price that does not seem absurd. ...

This was a great race between two cars with a lot of power. The SL65 is said to have a Renntech tune, drag radials, and the Renntech airbox. We would assume race gas well and the dyno numbers are stated to be 610 wheel. The CTS-V is said to be at 600 whp with a KDI street sweeper cam, Works cat-back exhaust, 2.85 upper pulley, 9.55 lower pulley, tune, and on drag radials also of course. The CTS-V rips the SL out of the hole but the SL65 comes on strong barely edging out the Caddy and pulling stronger up top as the trap speed shows. Check out the video below. ...

Well the luxury hatchback market just heated up considerably. Audi just revealed their new A3 ahead of the public Geneva showing and Mercedes decided to do the same with their new A-Class. We think the A-Class has the better exterior design with great and aggressive body work but the A3 has the better interior. If you are wondering what those red accents are on the car that stick out like a sore thumb they are part of the AMG Sport package. We are disappointed to see Mercedes watering down the AMG name much in the same manner as BMW is doing with M. ...

We were just getting used to the W212 E-class and already Mercedes is going to give it a refresh. It does not need one as nobody is complaining about the styling but Mercedes seems to think an update is necessary for 2013. The facelift spyphotos show that a single style headlight is going to make a comeback replacing the separated lights which have become and E-Class trademark. We do not feel this change is necessary and that it will take away from one of the unique aspects about E-Class styling which has existed for 3 model generations now. ...

There is no Black Series for the Mercedes CL and that is likely a good thing as first of all the CL is too heavy for such treatment and secondly if too many models got Black Series editions it would make the special edition cars far less special. Those who want a Black Series look for their CL however are covered with this new Prior Design wide body kit. It is clearly influenced by the SL 65 Black Series and that is not a bad thing. ...

Mercedes AMG Black Series cars are awesome. Cigarette speedboats are awesome. What is not to like with combining the two? Introducing the Black Series Marauder 50 foot speedboat. The boat has twin Mercury engines good for a combined 2700 horsepower. So what does the boat have in common with the C63 AMG Black Series that is said to serve as the inspiration other than the paint scheme and Alcantara touches? Who cares, stupid question, this boat is just plain badass whether it shares much of anything with the car or not. ...

Before we get into the numbers for this performance package M157 CLS63 AMG we want to mention the dyno used here. Insideline uses the MD Automotive dynojet which usually reads high even for a dynojet. We posted a dyno comparison done by Renntech of a 2012 CLS 63 AMG stock, with the performance package, and with a tune, and the performance package number was 516 wheel horsepower so right inline with what Insideline hit. ...

Well, this is something we would have never predicted. An SLS turned into a sedan? Really? Well, that is if you believe these patent drawing which sure seem to be authentic and are creating quite a bit of buzz. Mercedes seems to be considering meshing the gullwing doors with a traditional hinged door design for the rear. Mercedes will not confirm or deny the car but we think this would be an awkward and unnecessary step. However, at least they have the guts to try different things though and expand their model lineup every which way it can go. Even areas nobody would have guessed. ...

Congratulations to Renntech who simply keeps raising the bar on the M157 platform seemingly week after week. Renntech hit 602 wheel horsepower with STD correction on 93 octane pump gas. Yes, incredible. The CLS63 has a revised tune, intercooler upgrade, and a downpipe modification with 200 CEL cats. This provides 119 wheel horsepower over stock and 188 pound-feet of torque over stock. The best part? M157 tuning is just getting warmed up. ...

Insideline tested the new C63 AMG coupe and the results are what we expected and pretty darn good. 12.3@116 is no surprise but they managed to do this on street tires at California Speedway in Fontana. On better rubber and in better weather along with a P31 package will propel the car well into the 11's, stock. The curb weight is pretty much the same as the sedan although Mercedes quoted numbers have the sedan at 3,924. The coupe does not offer any performance advantage over the sedan other than center of gravity. ...

The 2011 Formula 1 season did not exactly go as planned for Mercedes. No point dwelling on the past as it is time to focus on the 2012 season and how Mercedes will fare with their new car. The main changes in the W03 are different maximum bodywork heights which create the "interesting" new nose style and exhaust placement changes. The new car has 4500 parts compared to 4300 of the old car. How will Mercedes fare this season and will Nico finally clearly surpass the aging Schumacher or will Michael prove his talent is timeless? We can not wait to find out. ...
