Five different races, five different winners. Unpredictable doesn't even begin to discribe the season so far. With the ban on off blown diffusers and higher degrading tires, the grid has never been closer. Mercedes AMG with Nico Rosberg already claiming the win in China, look to continue their success here in Monaco, while Michael Schumacher will continue to attempt to break into the podium. The Monaco Grand Prix is the most famous track in F1.This race shows the difference between a great driver and a good one. To win this race, a driver needs to be precise, quick, and brave. This is why it is considered a "must win" for drivers. The track, a combination of being technically difficult but also extremely glamorous and high profile. The circuit is one of the most demanding with no margin for error as the Armco barriers that line the track are at some points just inches from the cars. ...

You should all know by now that Mercedes is bringing back the twin turbo V12 with the new R231 SL65 AMG. We originally thought this was just the same old M275 V12 that had seen duty in the previous generation 600 and 65 AMG's but the motor has received some updates along with a new M279 engine designation. The 6.0 liter V12 to reach its new 630 horsepower rating received far more than just different ECU software. ...

This is the Misha Designs body kit for the new W218 Mercedes CLS-Class. This is a widebody kit that includes fenders. In addition to the widened fenders it includes side skirts, a front bumper, carbon lip, hood with carbon vents, and a roof spoiler. There are optional carbon fiber accents as well. We have seen this kit in person and it definitely makes the new CLS look far more aggressive and attractive. Everything works well, except the wheels chosen here. ...

The new S-Class is completing testing and will be revealed sometime later this year. In the meantime, our graphic design artist Wild-Speed has done his usual superb work in showing us what the finished product will likely look like. The new S-Class will likely be getting lights similar to the SL featuring LED's as is customary for new Mercedes models today as well as a new taillight design inspired by the CL. ...

Congratulations to Mercedes DTM driver Gary Paffett for taking the win at Brands Hatch, maintaining and extending his first place lead in the driver standings. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes all got on the podium with BMW driver Burno Spengler finishing and second and Audi's Mike Rockenfeller finishing in 3rd place. The next race will be taking place on the Red Bull Ring in thirteen days. ...

Mercedes never built a Black Series AMG CL-Class car. No reason to really as the CL is more of a heavy grand tourer than a track machine. Still, the Black Series vehicles have a very aggressive widebody look to them and if Mercedes ever built one it would likely look similar to this. This Version 2 kit from Prior-Design for the W216 CL is simply very well executed and makes the CL look very mean and aggressive, just as a Black Series style kit should. ...

The Mercedes DTM cars in 2012 have been very, very fast. It is rumored they are making the most horsepower but power is not the only change from 2011. The 2012 season is incredibly competitive with BMW entering the fray so Mercedes looked at several things to make sure they would be at their absolutely best and in compliance with updates regulations. Coulthard first hits on the most obvious and one of the most important which is the tires. ...

This is not exactly surprising news. The V12 twin turbo powered G65 AMG will not make it stateside. There are several reasons for this and the most likely deciding factor was simply the cost. The G63 AMG will already be over $130,000 and the new M157 V8 twin turbo motor does not give up much to the older M275 V12. Considering the G65 would be over $200,000 the market would be incredibly limited. The Euro price tag in a direct conversion puts it at around $500,000. Nobody is paying that for a G-Wagon in the United States. ...

Introducing Eurocharged's W209 CLK63 AMG Black Series software which provides gains of 24 wheel horsepower on 93 octane pump gas. This tune is the best dollar per horsepower option in the Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series aftermarket. Additionally, Eurocharged is able to flash the ECU through the OBDII port which means the ECU does not need to be pulled. A hand held flashing system allowing map switching is also coming soon. ...

Not the best day for Mercedes with Rosberg finishing in 7th and Schumacher not finishing the race after a collision with Senna. The victor was rookie Pastor Maldonado who was helped out greatly by the penalty assessed to Lewis Hamilton after qualifying essentially stripping Hamilton of the pole and giving it to Maldonado. A well deserved victory by Maldonado who raced very well and in the process became the first Venezuelan to win a Formula 1 Grand Prix. ...

We are pulling for Rosberg after he achieved a victory for Mercedes earlier this year. Mercedes looks much improved and we would be lying if we did not want to see Schumacher show his vintage self. The major news from qualifying is that Lewis Hamilton took the pole only to be excluded when his car was found to have less than the allowable minimum fuel amount. Hamilton loses the pole and will be starting instead from the back of the pack. Maldonado is moved up to the pole from second below. ...

Now we are just going by the horsepower figures given in the video as we do not have any dynos to accompany the claims. However, they both are likely accurate due to the result of the race. The CLS63 AMG is able to hang right with the tuned Ford GT and if the race went further it looked like it could pull slightly up top. We do not know the exact list of modifications on either car but the CLS63 obviously has Renntech software and the Ford GT is likely running a pulley, exhaust, and tune from Heffner. Regardless, very impressive result for the CLS63 AMG against stout competition. ...

This video comes from two BenzBoost members with modified W204 C63 AMG sedans, users Mthis and JonsC63AMG. The modifications on JonsC63AMG are an OE Tuning ECU tune, everything else is stock. The C63 taping the race belongs to Mthis and has an updating OE Tuning ECU tune along with long tube headers, BMC filters, 3 inch mid pipes, and some lightweight mods. Despite a lead and jump by the C63 belonging to Jon the C63 recording showed the horsepower disparity reeling him in and passing him. Exhaust modifications clearly make a nice difference on the C63 and compliment a tune well. ...

This is a comparison we have been wanting to see of a supercharged M156 taking on a tuned M159 in an SLS. The SLS belongs to a BenzBoost member named SLS AMG and it features bolt on's including a tune and exhaust mods. The SL63 AMG in this video is a 2009 R230 that belongs to his brother. The car has a Stage I Weistec supercharger. Full specs including weight of the cars are below. The supercharged car is putting out more power and it wins although the SLS hangs in there very well. Maybe time to upgrade the SL to the Weistec Stage 2+ supercharger? ...

BMW narrowly, and we mean narrowly, edged out Mercedes for the sales crown in the United States last year. Mercedes ended 2011 on a strong note topping BMW in a couple months at the end of the year and they have carried that momentum into 2012. We are pleased to report Daimler has taken the overall US sales crown through this point in 2012. It is going to be a close battle as BMW had a 36, yes only 36, car lead through the first quarter. We expect this to go back and forth but we hope Mercedes does dethrone BMW as they have been doing a much better job catering to the enthusiast and also giving US fans all the limited edition Black Series Models. Good luck Benz, give em hell! ...
