• A spectacular E30 M3 turbo S14 build by member DCR

If you are a BMW enthusiast, even in the slightest, you will appreciate a quality build like this. DCR's E30 M3 is simply one of the cleanest and best built custom turbo examples we have ever seen. The compression of the 2.5 liter motor was dropped to 8.1:1 and at just 9 psi it put down 265 whp. Impressive? Oh yes, and just take a look at that engine bay. Click read more to see the mod list and make sure you scroll down for the entire build history!

Promoted this to the front page, simply too great not to. This type of build and vehicle is the epitome of what bimmerboost is about, well done sir.

Sorry. 265rwhp. Been a while since I had it done.

The wastegate banjo bolt blew off on the first run so it could only boost to 9psi which was the spring rate in the watsegate. The autronic now keeps it at 14psi....Click here to enlarge

That was in shootout mode as well? You are making some real power, that is likely 300+ on a dynojet.

So you are using the autronic for engine management? Who does the tuning?

Matt Spry (P.I.T.S) did the tuning.

Any reason you aren't revving it out past 6500 or is it because it begins to drop off?

Wasnt worth taking it up any more as it wouldn't boost higher anyway. Will Rev to 8000rpm when re-tuned.

5 years to build huh..I feel like 2 years is an eternity when building something, but I realize some of my friends who have really sick builds have had their cars for 5-10 years...

Will it not boost higher due to the tune or turbo? 8000 rpm? Nice, very nice.

No the banjo bolt blew off the back of the wastegate so this prevented the Autronic controlling the boost level. It had a 9psi spring in the wastegate so thats what it opened at. It was too hot to re-attach the bolt there and then.

That turbo is holding torque perfectly! Has a lot left. Perfect build, I'm jealous! Can't wait for the 14psi, 8000RPM dyno! I wouldn't be surprised if you make 400whp, which would be insanely fun in that car!

        Thanks for sharing.

That engine is absolutely my "dream setup" for an E30 M3! None of that big motor nonsense, and the turbo adds a bit of 80s BMW F1 spirit. I love it! Click here to enlarge
