Last week we brought you the initial pictures of the build process for the DCT oil pan. You saw one side of the pan and some users asked about seeing the other side. Well, here are the final machining photos revealing the completed pan. As you can see, there are fairly deep fins cut into it for cooling as well as a custom M logo specifically for the BimmerBoost M3. Hey, that's how we roll. ...

The E39 M5 here belongs to BimmerBoost member 930chas. The 2JZ-GTE supra motor was rebuilt by E-Shift Performance and has been set up for 93 octane as well as E85. The motor was recently tuned by Justin Nenni of Tuning Concepts and has put down some very impressive numbers. On 93 octane the car dyno'd 613 wheel horsepower and on E85 it put down an eye opening 848 wheel horsepower. Impressive? Yes indeed. Check out the videos and pictures below. ...

Arkym has released their body upgrades for the F10 5 series with the M-sport aero package. Their offering consists of a carbon lip spoiler ($1199), carbon rear diffuser ($999), and a trunk lip spoiler also in carbon ($799). The pieces look great and we think they add a nice level of aggression for the F10 M-sport 5 series at a competitive price. ...

Mid 12's for a 5200 pound SUV is pretty darn impressive. It isn't all about acceleration either, pulling .91 g on the skidpad. MotorTrend likes the SUV overall calling it impressive while making sure to point out it sure is hefty. They also mention that the idea of an M SUV goes against many of the M principles which it is nice to see a mainstream publication say that. Impressive numbers for an SUV, definitely, just imagine how much more impressive it would be if it weighed 1000 pounds less (X3M, hint hint). ...

So, we are all familiar with the E92 M3 GTS. A lightweight, focused, 4.4 liter DCT only M3. German publication Auto Motor Und Sport reports that an E90 M3 GTS 4 door is coming. The lightweight E90 M3 reported on earlier is actually a GTS. Specs are stated as a 4.4 liter 440 horsepower motor with DCT transmission. This car will likely not make it to the USA either. We wonder how much of a market there really is a 4 door GTS and how it can possibly be larger than the market for the E92 GTS in the USA. ...

We like Fifth Gear, we like Fifth Gear a lot. Not only because it isn't filled with a bunch of meaningless fluff like Top Gear, but because we like watching Vicki drive. She certainly likes the way the car drives and how well balanced it is. Hey, she says it was a man she would marry it so seems the GTS is a pretty damn good car. It just makes us even more sad BMW refuses to bring this car to the United States. Watch the video if forbidden fruit does not torture you. ...

Lightweight and powered by a 4.4 liter V8, this is what an M version of the new Z4 should be if BMW ever produces one. The 2010 Z4 GT3 did quite well winning the Dubai 24 hours against stiff competition including the SLS GT3. For the 2011 model BMW changed the engine management as well as optimized the aerodynamics. All we know is that we want one. BMW, would it kill you to make an M version for the street that mimicked this as much as possible? ...

By now you know about the BMW " i " sub-brand. Our fears have been that it is going to be all boring front wheel drive "city cars" but the latest i3 model news leaves us some hope. It has been confirmed the model will be an electric mid-engine and rear wheel drive, two very good things for driving dynamics. The batteries are also said to be placed as low as possible for a low center of gravity and the chassis will be lightweight aluminum. The car likely won't show up until 2013 at the earliest, but here is hope that they make some fun to drive electrics. ...

What you see here is the SSP billet pan and this has been the major hold-up in the completion of the cooling system having undergone multiple designs. An LS2 corvette is a very, very capable car. Quick in stock form and this example is modified with headers, intake, full exhaust, and putting down 390 whp on a Mustang dyno. The E46 M3 is running a Gintani Stage II SC at 10 psi with meth, it puts down 485 whp. It is making almost 100 whp more than the Vette, but we are a bit surprised is pulls so easily right away. This really wasn't much of a race and shows how strong the E46 M3 can be when boosted. ...
