As I've said time and time again, IND's best asset are our amazing clients. Every day we have the privalage of encountering some of the most unique and driven people in the United States and internationally, and it is with the help of these individuals that we are able to build our Portfolio Projects.
This newest Portfolio Project is no exception. The owner of the car is a true car enthusiast and appreciates not only European sports cars, but also their Japanese rivals. We have decided to embrace his enthusiasm for sports cars of every origin and are working to create an M3 that reflects this. ...Published on 12-01-2010 01:28 AM
Audi has revealed the new A6 which borrows quite a few (more like all) styling cues from the A8. We aren't quite sure what to make of it yet as it seems similar yet different at the same time. We will leave the debate on styling up to you. A hybrid is shown here with a 2.0 TFSI motor paired with an electric. Currently two gasoline motors and three diesels are offered. A FWD model is also offered. ...Published on 11-30-2010 12:50 AM
According to thelocal, a German news source, a crime ring operating in the Munich BMW plant has been caught. 18 workers systematically would steal parts from the plant and put them up for sale on online auctions. At least 3 of the now ex-employees are in custody and are likely going to pay a heavy price. It is said that car seats is where the big bucks were at, stealing them and storing them at a warehouse to later sell online. We figured it would be high pressure fuel pumps? ...Published on 11-29-2010 08:50 AM
Wald International has released their take on the new BMW 7 series. Most striking is the rear overlapping oval exhaust which is different without being tacky. They style is influenced no doubt by Techart who would use a similar exhaust tip on their Porsche exhausts. Unlike most Japanese tuning, this is tasteful and not overdone. The LED's in the front and rear are also integrated fairly well. Check out the pics! ...Published on 11-29-2010 08:42 AM
We like maximum performance all year round. This video just goes to show how important it is to make sure you have the proper tires for the conditions. Winter and summer tires are compared in the snow on an F25 X3. ...Published on 11-29-2010 12:58 AM
Here we have a bone stock C6 Z06 vs. a VT2-600 supercharged DCT M3. The M3 gets crushed pretty decisively. Even in the run where the Z06 let off and then got back on it, it clearly shows the power disparity between the two as the Z06 is able to creep back up. So why this result when a DCT Gintani supercharged M3 is able to walk a stock Z06? ...Published on 11-28-2010 09:43 PM
I have spent the entire day gathering this data. I was finally able to orchestrate this test with a friend of mine who also frequents this board. He was witness and also passenger data logging. Firstly, the test conditions were such:
135i, stock downpipes, stock intercooler, JB4/G4 alpha tune. Ambient conditions 72F. Engine warmed up fully, heatsoaked for both runs. Boost kept constant for both runs. Meth mixture 90/10. Flow rate for meth was about 310-340 ml/min TOTAL.
Multiple runs were done 2nd through 4th gear, best back to back runs were compared. ...Published on 11-28-2010 05:14 AM
There are those who consider swapping a GM V8 into a BMW blasphemy. We consider it badass. Here we have an E46 sedan from the Phillipines that was able to pull this swap off. The LS3 is mated to a tremec T-56 manual transmission. An E28 M5 diff puts the power down. Click read more to see the full mod list and build pictures. ...Published on 11-27-2010 05:14 AM
Here we a have a 5 series GT modified by Studie AG. The Japanese have weird taste to say the least when it comes to modifying cars and this "creation" attests to that. The 5 series GT isn't the prettiest car to begin with so it is nice to see tuners tackle it attempting to improve it. We wouldn't call this an improvement though, we don't even really know what the hell to call it. Trying to make a 5 series GT look like a WWII Jeep? They call this the F07 safari, although if taken on a safari it would scare all the game away. ...Published on 11-27-2010 12:24 AM
Manhart-Racing is the first company to pull of a twin turbo V8 swap. They lifted the motor out of the X6 M along with the automatic transmission. The motor is tuned to 734 horsepower. In order to fit the motor which has its turbos top mounted, they increased the power bulge. We have no idea how much this conversion costs as that info has not been released but it is great to see someone actually pull this off, with proof. ...Published on 11-26-2010 11:26 PM
For the past 12 years, Dr. Mario Theissen has been the head of the BMW Motorsport programs. This means Formula 1, ALMS, DTM, etc, everything dealing with BMW racing was under his jurisdiction. He joined BMW in 1977 as a engineer. Jens Marquardt will take over next year, "Heading up BMW Motorsport is a dream job for me and a tremendous show of confidence," said 43-year-old Marquardt. ...Published on 11-25-2010 12:19 AM
Great to see a look back like this of such a classic BMW. This is a 2.3 liter S14 that revs to almost 9k. Worth watching just for the sound of the motor alone! ...Published on 11-24-2010 11:31 PM
Juergen Greil works for BMW and is in charge of the drivetrain development on the Vision Efficient Dynamics car. This is a heart warming video that fits into the BMW "JOY" campaign style. It is subtitled in English. ...Published on 11-24-2010 05:19 AM
Autoblog.nl did a comparison between the three heavyweights in the luxury sport sedan class. The video has a rather slow, almost awkward pacing to it so just skip to the 6:00 mark if you want to see the good stuff. Once again, no performance numbers but they conclude that the M3 and C63 are both quicker than the RS5, which they are. The video is subtitled in English, enjoy. ...Published on 11-23-2010 06:04 AM
Here is a video of the latest track rental at MIR that included turbo BMW's, some supras, and AMG's. The video quality is outstanding, worth the watch to get a feel for what it is like to be out at the track with these cars. ...Published on 11-23-2010 05:32 AM
We have all seen various F10 M5 spy videos from the ring but this latest video from Inside Line displays the revised traction control in action. The M5 enters a slick portion of the track and attempts to put full power down and is reeled in by the system preventing the car from sliding out. Pretty impressive the way it maintains traction in slick conditions. ...Published on 11-23-2010 01:48 AM
Here we have a built motor S62 V8 running a single turbo. The motor has been dropped down to 9.0:1 compression and the turbo is a Garrett GT4088R. This is impressive to see as there has not been much if any successful turbo development on the S62 V8. As you all know, HPF abandoned plans to bring a turbo setup to market citing cost. It would seem this car from Russia has succeeded at least in the hardware aspect. We are waiting to see dyno's once the motor is broken in as well as who tuned it as it uses the stock DME! Impressive. ...Published on 11-21-2010 06:28 AM
For our new poll, we want to ask you, do you care if parts are copied? AC-Schnitzer recently had the German government seize and destroy a large cache of replica parts. They claimed the parts were not safe and had the parts seized and destroyed to protect consumers. Is this really as much a concern about safety as it is a concern for the bottom line? I run a replica carbon Hamann lip on my E92 M3. It costs 1/10 the actual price of the real Hamann lip. Why would I pay retail for a name brand on a part that is likely to be worn down or cracked necessitating replacement? ...Published on 11-20-2010 08:35 PM
Well, the latest camouflaged photos have been circling the web and we thought it was our responsibility to show them to you even though they do not reveal too much. This is the next generation 3 series, the F30, in 4-door form testing. The proportions are slightly larger and the grill seems to take cues from the new 5 series. Other than that, what struck us was that the interior seems to be pretty much the same old thing, just a minor evolution. That may be good or bad depending on your perspective. This car is slated to arrive as a 2013 model. ...Published on 11-20-2010 01:03 AM
AC Schnitzer has put two of their wheel designs on the new X3. The wheels without the lip are the bi-color type IV's. The wheels with the lip are the multipiece type VIII's. We do not feel either wheel works all too well. The car desperately needs to be lowered. Also, the type IV's in silver instead of the bi-color with black hiding something of the accents would look much better. We look forward to seeing what else AC Schnitzer comes up with for the new X3 and seeing their other wheel designs on the car would not hurt. ...
