    • Weistec Engineering Stage III supercharged W204 C63 with built motor M156 and upgraded transmission goes 9.78 @ 140 in the 1/4 mile

For whatever reason very fast passes along with record breaking passes keep coming from the Yas Marina drag strip in Abu Dhabi this year. Here is a very impressive run by a built motor M156 W204 C63 AMG with the full gamut of Weistec Engineering Upgrades.

The car has a 3.0 liter twin screw blower courtesy of the Weistec Engineering Stage III supercharger package. The car also features the 'bulletproof' Weistec transmission upgrade. Last but not least do not forget the M156 6.2 liter AMG engine is built using Weistec components.

There are questions regarding the fuel used as well as the wheel/tire setup but 9 second performance from built motor Weistec supercharged M156 motors is nothing new. It's the benchmark.

P.S. Can we get a slip instead of grainy video please?

Sticky can you please explain the AMS Alpha Omega 2000+ WHP did the 60' in 1.296

I can't explain that. To me that 60 foot seems off.

Exactly the only way you could is in a roll on start, and you can see the reaction time coming on the time board fractions of a second after the car starts and in yas island it usually comes on as the car starts you can also see that on the 10.2 second pass this C63 did on Weistec channel

Well, first of all I don't understand how all of these big dollar builds are filmed through video cameras made in the 90's in the Middle East.

Secondly, I don't understand Yas Marina and its times.

So the results are what they are but until I put stock in them I want to see them done on a US strip. Especially considering just how many record breaking runs are coming from that drag strip this year.

The 60 foot doesn't add up. The elapsed time and trap speed do.

Sticky I am ashamed of the way those people miss use this sport! All the records they did are true accept for this one! Last week I broke the 10's with the C63BS and they wanted to break my number and this is how they did it! I don't want bash anyone it's sad to go this way to take glory!

The 60' don't add up! And you must see the video properly and you can tell the car started before the time! The time starts when the reaction light comes on! In this case the car had fractions of a second head start or 1 car length.

I've had 60 foots that haven't added up on my own runs but that was due to the timing equipment.

I've been thinking for a while now Yas Marina is producing suspect results.

I hate to say it, but they're all suspect including your own.

Sticky I have had 4 runs in Yas on the same day with all 9.9xx seconds it's okay if you don't believe it, only I don't have a crazy 60' I have consistent numbers with consistent trap speeds. Yas Marina is NHRA approved drag, but you have to question the people not the drag and equipment!

This is the issue. So on this run the NHRA approved drag strip is faulty but on your runs it isn't? You see the dilemma?

Look, do I believe an M157 swapped C63 Black Series with 4Matic can run 9's? Of course.

Do I believe a supercharged built motor C63 can run 9's? Of Course.

Do I believe Yas Marina is producing accurate/replicable 1/4 mile times? No.

Sticky, please have a good look at the video, the ET at the quarter mile in Yas starts when the reaction time appears on the board in this case the car starts and the reaction time is delayed for fractions of a second! You can see the 10.2 run that was legitimate, please have a look on both videos and give me your feedback on them with having a close look at the time board

You do raise an issue. The car moves well before the reaction time is displayed.

What or how to account for this I have no idea.

What it does is it makes me lose all faith in Yas Marina as an NHRA approved strip. There clearly is something going on.

So, I propose you race the car in the video and settle it where timing equipment doesn't matter.

I am lready trying to let him bring his car on an open day at yas not privately rented day like last night and if his car is a 9 second car we will have the first ever two 9 second car battle at a strip

Sounds good to me. Make it happen.

That just flat out does not leave the line like a 1.208 second car... looks like he bogs momentarily and then spins. I'm sure it was fast out of the hole, but not that fast.

Same layout (6+L v8 + blower + rwd), roughly the same time, roughly the same trap. 60' off by nearly .2... doesn't add up. The V also looks to hit a HELL of a lot harder from a dig. Maybe the Benz doesn't know that you stage with your front tires?

Stevenh the CTS-V pulled a wheelie with 1.38 60' and the C63 doesn't even try with 1.2 maybe the C63 needs a drag suspension setup

CTS V suspension is bone stock. The same car is running HIGH 1.2's with a 150 shot off the line. I'm just using this as an example that there is no way this C63 is cutting a 1.21. I like my staging with the back tires conspiracy theory Click here to enlarge

If this is not legit I lose all respect for yas marina track and any other records including yours will be tainted. Your trap speeds are similar you were higher by 4Kph and your video doesn't start until after the launch so can't tell how you were staged. No disrespect to you but somebody needs to confirm the timing equipment being used there and make sure it's running right they even almost took the overall Gtr record from AMS with a lot lower trap speed at yas marina
