Well, Mercedes-AMG had a similar line of thinking and decided to blow everyone away by putting the M177 V8 under the hood as reports earlier in the year stated they would.
The GLC63 AMG will follow the new Mercedes SUV naming scheme which means a GL prefix followed but the chassis it is based on in this case the C-Class. Essentially, this is the new GLK.
Let's focus on what is really important and that being the M177 V8 under the hood. This motor will go in the W205 C63 AMG and will be shared with the GLC63 AMG. Power and torque outputs are likely to also be shared which means 469 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. This easily eclipses the Porsche Macan Turbo.
There is even a chance of a GLC63 AMG S model with 510 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque putting the GLC63 AMG in truly unrivaled territory. This is potentially the king of the performance SUV crop at least from a power to weight and tuning perspective.
Way to step up your game Mercedes-AMG.
