• Car and Driver records blistering 2015 Lamborghini Huracan 610-4 acceleration figures - 3423 pound curb weight, comparison to Aventador

The new Lamborghini Huracan is a sexy piece of machinery. What if we told you its performance is even better than the looks? The Huracan is very fast. Faster than even its big brother the Aventador if going by Car and Driver's test figures. The results are simply eye opening.

How about 0-60 in 2.5 seconds? 0-100 in 5.7 seconds. It goes through the 1/4 mile at 10.4 @ 135. Absurdly quick numbers and roughly on par with a McLaren MP4-12C and maybe even the 650S.

How does this compare to the big brother Aventador? Car and Driver recorded 0-60 for the Aventador in 3.0 seconds. 0-100 in 6.4 seconds. The 1/4 mile test number is 10.9 @ 133.

The Aventador of course is heavier at 4085 pounds than the 3423 pound Huracan. It also handles better thanks partially to the curb weight advantage and smaller proportions.

Just like the Gallardo LP560 and Murcielago LP640 the little brother Lambo is more than capable of running with the more expensive big brother. On the roadcourse, the cheaper car is actually the better performance choice.

It is hard to argue against the Huracan for driving pleasure. The Aventador of course offers things beyond performance. Still, the Huracan impresses and hopefully we will see a comparison between the Aventador and Huracan recorded at the same time and same place.

Test sheets for both cars from Car and Driver below.
