• Maximum PSI Stage 3 E46 M3 stock DME tuned turbo kit shows over 800 horsepower

Maximum PSI as many of you know has been hard at work on E46 M3 turbo kits tuned by Nick G of Technique Tuning on the stock BMW engine control unit. We have already seen 697 wheel horsepower from their Stage II kit on a Dynojet and now they working on their Stage 3 (with a Stage 4 coming as well) built motor application and on a Superflow Autodyn chassis dyno the result is 809.2 horsepower at the wheels.

There is definitely more to come but so far early on Maximum PSI and Technique Tuning are showing the ability to tune built motor S54 setups on the stock DME which nobody has successfully done. Yes, it's not easy.

The second graph shows Maximum PSI hitting ~18 psi of boost on pump gas for 660.8 wheel horsepower. It will be interesting to see the Stage III on a Dynojet. Keep in mind, with dropped compression on a built motor one generally will make less power per pound of boost than at the OEM compression ratio.

The turbocharger used is a Precision 6466. The fuel is MS109 for the first graph and pump gas for the second graph. The exhaust system is a 3.5 inch design that is catless.

BimmerBoost will of course be watching closely but this is a great start.

That's for the props. But slight correction Sticky.....that's 809 rear wheel horsepower, not crank.

No prob but isn't that an engine dyno?

No, that's not an engine dyno. Maximum PSI currently has a Superflow Autodyn 30 rear wheel chassis dyno installed.

Notice at the top of the graph it says "Corrected Wheel Power vs. RPM".

I see the corrected output but I thought the graph would state it's an Autodyn chassis instead of a Superflow engine. Thanks, I'll edit.

Maxpsi dyno reads 7-8% lower then dyno jet.
My Fbo c63 made 435 on there super flow and on dyno jet it made 465.

I don't doubt you. It's going to be fun to see this on a Dynojet.

I believe RK-Tunes also can DME tune the S54, if I am not mistaken.

Definitely but not for a turbo kit.

Damn, sick hp numbers! So in a street trim application, what's the best route for putting the power to the ground? Sticky wheels and suspension? Just asking.

If that's what I'm thinking it's an m52/s52. Maximum psi and technique tuning are not vendors so this article is a courtesy to begin with. Distract away with good info!
