    • Stock 2014 Camaro Z28 on the dyno shows 455 to the tire

The new 2014 Camaro Z28 is getting rave reviews. Yes, it is an expensive Camaro at $75k but it sure looks to be worth every penny. The track special has vanquished the 911 Turbo and Nissan GTR and those are high performance peers with a higher price tag. We know it handles incredibly well but what does the motor put out?

The naturally aspirated LS7 is the same motor we know and love from the C6 Z06 and it is rated at 505 horsepower at the crank. Redline Motorsports put a bone stock Z28 on the dyno and showed 455 to the wheels.

Now, this is a Dynomite dynamometer which reads higher than a Dynojet. Stock C6 Z06's put out roughly ~440 whp and that will be the range for the Z28 as well. The car is spot on exactly where it should be.

I really love this car. It would be awesome to buy a car that has one of the best performing and easily modified motors under the hood, and literally the absolute best available to the market everything else...damn I want one

It's almost odd that a $75k Camaro is a value.

Yeah, lol. Can you imagine if someone told you 14 years ago this is what Chevy was going to do with a future Z28? It's pure awesome. Really shows the difference between what GM's and Ford's different approaches to a sports car are. IMO GM is just slaying them right now. I can't see buying a GT500 over this car.
