Here is Mercedes-Benz testing the 2015 AMG GT on the Nurburgring and it sounds... subdued
Everyone is excited about the upcoming AMG GT
and rightfully so. This will be a new sports car from Mercedes-Benz that will fill in the void left once the SLS AMG ends production. With twin turbo V8 power courtesy of an M177/M178 4.0 liter
engine paired to a dual clutch transmission as well as a fairly low curb weight thanks to extensive use of aluminum this will likely be the highest performance AMG model available in the lineup for the near future.
Mercedes takes its performance seriously which is why they are doing Nurburgring testing and the AMG GT sure looks like it corners pretty flat and moves well. The odd part is that the M177/M178 exhaust note is so subdued. It just sounds quiet, doesn't it?
Hopefully Mercedes uncorks the exhaust a bit and let's this car roar. Regardless, it is shaping up quite nicely. We are getting close to the point of an official reveal.
