• COBB Announces Porsche 911 Turbo Accesport and Accestuner support for 997.1 Turbo and GT2 - 997.2 application / support on the way

As many of you may already know, COBB is now offering Accessport and Accesstuner support for the 997.1 Turbo and GT2. We would like to take a moment to formally introduce our product and itís capabilities. Letís start with the Accessport. Our current support covers the 997.1 Turbo and GT2 with additional 997.2 Turbo support coming soon. We're continuing to investigate 991 Turbo support along with expanding to various other models within the Porsche lineup. As part of a special release program, the Porsche Accessports are available exclusively through our Certified Porsche Protuners.

The purpose behind this is to ensure our earliest customers are working with performance tuning facilities that we know are familiar with the vehicles and are able to provide the highest levels of customer service that the COBB experience is synonymous with. This collaboration also allows us to gather the various Porsche ECU ROM files as quickly as possible to further expand Accessport support. The special release program has proven to be an invaluable tool and we are happy to announce the release of the Porsche Accessport to all COBB Authorized Dealers and the COBB Website is coming very soon!

      Accessport Features:

Simple Installation: Everything is included for the simple installation you can do in your driveway! Intuitive on-screen instructions identify your exact vehicle, saves stock vehicle data, and displays available OTS maps.
Change Maps: Store up to 100 maps from our OTS map database or from your favorite COBB tuner and quickly switch between them for any need.
Vehicle Upgrade Support: As you continue to modify your car, Accessport maps can be used to optimize performance upgrades. Changing the map can be done in less than 1 minute in your driveway.
In Car Mount: The Accessport can be mounted in vehicle to allow you to monitor the performance data.
Data Logging: Record multiple data channels simultaneously for in-depth evaluation of engine performance. Stores up to 1 hour of continuous data.
Gauges: Use your Accessport as a gauge to monitor boost or any other live information, directly from the ECU.
Trouble Codes: Read engine trouble codes to diagnose issues. Clear them when resolved. Prevent expensive trips to the dealership.
Full Uninstall: Using the Uninstall option will completely remove our programming from the carís ECU. It is then able to be re-installed after a dealer visit or on another vehicle.

The Accessport connects to your vehicles OBDII port and is able to reprogram the factory ECU with a performance calibration file. During the installation process, the Accessport will identify and save the factory data from the vehicles ECU. That information remains stored on the Accessport and can also be backed-up on your computer using our Accessport Manager software. Should you ever need to return your vehicle to stock , itís as simple as completing the Uninstall function with the Accessport. After the vehicle is identified, you will choose a calibration file that is applicable to your vehicle and modification level. We will offer an assortment of Off The Shelf (OTS) maps that will be preloaded onto the Accessport. You can also choose to have your car custom tuned by a Protuner who will use our Accesstuner Pro software.

      COBB OTS Maps :
Stage 1 maps are calibrated to be used on a completely stock vehicle but still provide a significant increase in performance.
Stage 2 maps are to be used with an upgraded exhaust. We recommend using the stock airbox and upgraded intercoolers at this level.
Stage 3 maps will support our COBB 1000cc injectors on cars that are using E85.

      Non-Performance:
      Valet Mode
      Anti-theft Mode
      Installed Stock Mode

We are continuously working to refine and perfect our tunes, those updates will be available to customers at no charge.

BTW - when I lived in Hungary there were a LOT of Scandi students, especially Swedish girls.. saw 5 one night at my regular wine bar there..... one was 100/100, 2 were strong 98s and the other two 96 or 95/100... crystal blue clear eyes, one hot black-head, 4 blondes.. the girl with black hair was the most striking person I have ever met

If the car was previously tuned using GIAC can we still use COBB to tune the car? Thanks!

Of course. It isn't like joining a religion.

What I mean is If I got a Vehicle that is tuned by GIAC would I be able to simply overwrite the tune If I purchase the COBB or Do I need the car flashed back to stock By the GIAC dealer. Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think you can just overwrite it.

I bought Eurodyne software and I just replaced the GIAC flash with the Eurodyne flash..... COBB would do the same

If you got the cobb ap then your giac tune (rom) would be your "stock" rom going forward. This may or may not be desirable. e.g. If you're going in for warranty work, normally you'd want to flash back to stock. In your case, your stock ROM would be your giac flash which may not be good for warranty visit.

This is pretty solid logic right here.

I think Cobb supplies "stock" roms to use even if you dont have your own.

From the user guide "Save Stock ECU Program Data:The Accessport has the ability to save the stock ECU program data; however, this can take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Pressing CANCEL will skip the process of saving the stock data; pressing OK will proceed with saving the stock data. A battery charger will be required to complete the save. The stock data is used during the uninstall process to return the ECU to its stock configuration. If the stock data is not saved, stock data supplied with the Accessport will be used when the Accessport is uninstalled. There is no disadvantage to skipping this step and using the stock data supplied with the Accessport"

xbox - did you decide to remove your drive axle for the dyno ?

Tim has put new ID1000s into our car, new fuel lines, extra pump/s, new coils, colder sparkies... just waiting on the Ohlins coilovers to see the RWD GT2 conversion Tim941NYC is doing for me..... I am going to check out the E85 tuning using the Eurodyne if possible (I assume because USP and Tapp both have E85 cars this will be possible)..... Tim will be tuning the new stuff in tomorrow, so hopefully by late next week it will be ready to go in total

        Fun times
