• Lancer Evo X comes to the end of its life and Mitsubishi does not have a replacement planned - Hybrid Evo XI?

The automotive world is making a big deal out of the idea that the Lancer Evolution is dead. The 10th generation Evo has been with us for quite some time so it is only natural that the car will eventually stop production. The Evo will end production later this year.

Yes, Mitsubishi will not have an Evo in the lineup and there is not a replacement planned, testing, confirmed, or anything. A Nissan spokesperson stated, "Mitsubishi Motors does not have any plans to design a successor with the current concept, as a high-performance four-wheel-drive gasoline-powered sedan."

That does not mean the Evo is dead, it just means it will... evolve. Hah, get it? The same spokesperson added that Mitrsubishi would "explore the possibilities of high-performance models that incorporate electric vehicle technology."

What that sounds like to MitsubishiBoost is that the next Evo will be a hybrid. Considering Mitsubishi Motors has made 10 generations of Lancer Evolution they clearly like and know the importance of an enthusiast model in their 'boring' lineup.

I'll be surprised if Mitsubishi even sells cars in the US in the future, much less make another performance car.

The CEO has came out numerous times lately and "reinforced" Mitsubishi's stance that they are committed to the US market. They've produced financial losses in the US since 07. Sounds to me, just like every time a football coach is about to get fired, the owner "stands behind his coach" and is fired at the end of the season. The US is less than 2% of mitsu's global market. If I were CEO and had 7 straight years of losses here, and only 2% of my volume comes from here, that's a no brainer. I'm done.

Rumors have been swirling around the mitsu community for a year or so now that EVO was done and that mitsu was pulling out of the US. One is already confirmed true.

The network update will come with a new style. This isn't finished yet. I'm just getting everything in place, writing articles, etc., so it isn't empty. Just bear with me.

Yeah, I guess Mitsubishi is almost done in this market. They can't keep taking losses like VW.

But.. what does Mitsubishi have that is exciting? Nothing.

They currently have 3 model sold in the US. All share the same platform LOL. The outlander, lancer and eclipse. I think this is why the EVO X is so heavy.
