    • CLA45 AMG wagon / shooting brake spotted testing and unlikely to come to the USA

The CLA-Class is in high demand selling out all over the planet. If it works, why stop with the sedan? Mercedes-Benz intends to add a wagon into the mix with a 'shooting brake' style CLA variant. The stretched platform is being tested as an AMG variant which is pictured below. The car will be slightly heavier than the sedan version but should prove to be a popular and more affordable (as well as lighter) alternative to the CLS wagon variant.

Do not expect this car to come to the United States. Europeans however are bound to eat it up.

Aw man!! That, unsurprisingly, sucks majorly. But wait! Maybe not! Here I go:

Dear God of the Car Gods,

Can we in the North American market please just get a crack at those CLA Shooting Brakes. Pretty please?

You know, preferably on showroom floors to at least re-test the US/Canadian market regarding wagons.............but at bare minimum as a special order vehicle?

I mean, Supreme Car God, why must the frickin Euros (Can I say frickin?....uh-oh.) get to have all the cool wagons and hot hatches and we get squat?

I know, I know; it's 'cause they don't sell...........but can you put in a good word to Dr. Z just this one time? We'd appreciate it.

So on behalf of Boost Car Nuts worldwide, thanks in advance for putting a bug in his ear.

        Sincerely,
        Your Boy,

They'll never give us the cool wagons and hatches. Every mom in an SUV has ruined it.

Trudat, homie. Precisely that thought crossed my mind, as we know the history of the decline in wagon & hatch sales.

Everybody (well, you know what I mean), wants to sit high above the traffic as if that offers some sort of road superiority to their little insecure pea brains.

Click here to enlarge P!sses me off. Oh well; I'll get over it one day.

Might just have to trick out an Audi Avant or Allroad.............if I could just get past paying $40-something large for a RWD 4-banger Luxury Car. Got issues wit' that. (I know, me and my issues.)

I mean, it's one thing to pay slightly less for the largely mechanical & Rally-tested prowess of an Evo MR or WRX STI - maybe even Golf R.

But a premium Benz or Audi or near-luxury/overpriced/meagerly equipped/bare bones BMW? Nah. I'll take today's special, that plate of broken glass; pass the hot sauce.

I know. At, at least get some RennTech treatment on an E350 Wagon with the 300+hp V6.....that could work, if not an all out E63.

So thank the Car Gods we can least get something.

I'm happy now. Click here to enlarge Peace!
