    • 4MAtic W212 E63 AMG with tune and downpipes 0 to 180 acceleration with launch control - PP-Perofrmance Stage 2 M157

This video shows some impressive acceleration from an M157 twin turbo equipped E63 AMG that also has the 4Matic all wheel drive drivetrain. The car hustles from a stop and is launched using launch control which Mecedes-Benz AMG calls Race Start. Holding the brake pedal revs jump up to just under 4000 rpm and releasing the brake launches the car. When the driver releases the brake the torque is applied to the ground and there is a split second hesitation as the drivetrain copes with all the power being unleashed.

The 4Matic grip is quite impressive as the power is put down drama free and the E63 rockets forward. Shifts are quick and crip from the MCT automatic transmission and the PP-Performance Stage 2 tuned vehicle with downpipes gets to 291 KPH or 180 MPH VERY quickly.

Yes, the M157 is a beast:

Awesome rate of acceleration. The 0-200km/h is very impressive on the vbox.
There is no hesitation, if you look at the speedo instead of the rev counter the car accelerates immediately and it's just the speed matching the revs since the 4wd doesn't allow a wheelspin condition.

You're right. It looked like it hesitated to me but after watching it again and looking at the speedo it's the car catching the revs. The 4Matic does put it all down without issue looks like.

Damn. That's fast. There is something awesome about the E63 - point and shoot insanity.

All of them are point and shoot insanity now. It's getting boring.

True. Hopefully at least BMW leaves AWD as an option only for a while. I like my cars as I like my women - hard to handle and a little dangerous.

I thought about writing an article on this. Maybe I will.

Car is running really healthy numbers. 6,5 Sec. from 100-200 KM/H is quite good.

The best figures up to now I found for the M157 is from German Tuner GAD. Their E63 S V8 BiTurbo did 5,3 Sec. from 100-200 KM/H, but this is with upgraded Turbos. You can see it on the GAD Facebook-Page.

Very quick. Still waiting on someone to give me a definitive on eliminating all the BS torque management out of my ML63 so I can use all the tuned power I currently have and do a turbo upgrade.
