    • COBB Tuning entering the Porsche turbo tuning game - Cobb V3 Accessport available for 997.1 Turbo and GT2 models

Cobb Tuning continues to expand the reach of the Accessport V3 which is now available for the Porsche 997.1 Turbo platform. The V3 Accesport can accommodate 2007-2009 Porsche 997.1 Turbo models along with the 2008-2009 Porsche 997 GT2. Cobb offers a Stage 1 and Stage 2 91 octane tune for the 997.1 Turbo and a Stage I 93 octane tune for the 997 GT2. Expect more maps and tunes to come as well as more Porsche model compatibility. This is just the beginning.

      Porsche 911 (997.1) Turbo 2007-2009

      Stage1 ACN91:
      - Peak: +10% HP / +8% TQ
      - Max: +17% HP / +16% TQ

      Stage2 ACN91:

      - Peak: +17% HP / +13% TQ
      - Max: +24% HP/ +24% TQ

      Porsche 911 (GT2) 2008-2009

      Stage1 93:
      - Peak: +8% HP / +14% TQ
      - Max - 15% HP / + 15% TQ

Larger, full color, higher resolution screen

We super sized the screen for ease of use and better monitoring. Full text help menus, multi-gauge layouts, full map descriptions and more. This screen has room to spare - so no need to run back to your laptop.

      Customizable multi-gauge display

Want gauges? No problem. The V3 now supports up to 6 fully customizable gauges with 1/1000 resolution. Monitor all the parameters you want to see and customize each layout for street, strip or track.

In vehicle mount, with on/off switch

There is nothing we like more to see than an AP peeking over the dash. With the on/off button and using the included universal mount or vehicle specific options, there is no reason not to run your AP in-vehicle.

Faster and easier to use with a familiar face

We listened to what you wanted. Use your same maps, monitor your same parameters, and troubleshoot your same codes, but now with more. More speed, more memory, more map storage, more live gauges, and more troubleshooting help.

      Interchangeable faceplates

Is it your Accessport or our Accessport? It's yours. Customize it as you see fit. The new V3 comes with 2 interchangeable bezels, blue and grey, or put your own touches on one. Our favorite is the chrome one installed in our GT-R.

      Pricing is $2500.00

Now I see this as good news, especially with a Macan on order......not so keen on the apparently massive "Porsche tax" applied in this case though. I can only assume the casing for these Porsche specific V3's is constructed of Unobtanium.

Supply, demand, market. You aren't paying for the hardware costs solely.

Understood.....we're also paying for the development costs etc etc. The market dictating the price is covered by my "Porsche tax" line though Click here to enlarge
I'll be genuinely interested to see where they price the AP for Porsche's other vehicle lines, if they end up catering for them of course.

Well since Shiv is now pushing his OpenFlashTablet to 997.1 turbo this is still very good news.

Has Shiv left the BMW scene?

His Openflashtablet website only mentions FRS/BRZ, MX-5, and 997.1 Turbo.

Honestly the reviews were not great and with the BB flash being free I guessed he jumped ship (again)

For those of you complaining about price, $2k is the market standard for basic Porsche flash tunes.

Actually, potentially upwards of $3k, depending on the company of course, which makes the COBB AP a relative bargain I guess.
It wasn't a complaint to be fair, more an observation that I wasn't so "keen" on the price discrepancy between this V3 and that for other marques. It doesn't mean I won't buy one if the Macan is catered for, it just means I won't necessarily jump for joy at the price point Click here to enlarge

Tuned Macan's are going to be pretty awesome.

I'm certainly looking forward to getting mine and seeing where the tuning companies can go with it.
Just under 4 months wait now.

Obviously generic flash tunes are going to have a very different price point than custom dyno tunes stacked with EBCs.... EPL in CT (Tuned the USP Motorsports GT2) starts at $2k, FVD Brombacher is $2k, Markski/911 Tuning $2.5k. Obviously there are additional cost if you want things like Race Gas/E85 Tunes, Launch Control, etc. The COBB AP definitely offers a better package then the alternatives, specifically being able to change tunes, data log/monitoring, code reading through the user friendly AP (as opposed to a laptop).

Obviously the COBB isn't going to be able to offer the features of a ProEFI or Syvecs, but they're two completely different products targeting two very different marketplaces.

Well the almighty actually started posting in the OFT thread over at 6speed, the usual insults etc etc but he promised a OFT N54 release tomorrow or so, I actually posted about it in the N54 section just a moment ago...

I guess Vishnu is still making money of bmw owners, weird I know but one shouldn't underestimate marketing.

I just want to take pride in playing a small role in hitting him in the wallet. Felt good to hit him where it matters.

Saw that he did OpenSource over there.... Really hope people demand a LOT of data and results before throwing any money his way, especially when there are a LOT more established and reputable tuners on the Porsche platform.

Somewhat tempted to just blast him with Vishnu problem/lack of support threads from the Subaru/EVO/335 forums.
